Call me cynical but if the "leaker" does indeed have the Strategy Guide to be convinced this is real then I would expect he/she to have taken more shots of the other 400 or so other pages in the guide

This map is so tiny because it's only on one page. There are also hardly any towns and cities, only boring copy and pasted countryside. I'm so disappointed with this, I hope it's fake. f­uck you, C­un

The land area is only 17.4 sq miles with LS city coming in around 4 sq miles. Or approx 2 by 2 miles if it was a grid. I wish people would refer to actual measurements when calling an area 'small' or 'large'. The map is NOT that large . 17.4 sq miles is just over 4 by 4 miles. No doubt airspeed in jets will have to be unrealistically slow or you would fly over in no time.

The 17.4 square miles number doesn't take the Alamo Sea into account. I think it is only fair to count that as well as the mappers have been doing all along.

Elemental . The scale is only 2/3 complete. It shows 2000ft. I overlayed 1/4 sq grids and could just about cover LS with 16 of the, hence 4 sq miles for LS. Not large, but larger than the land area of IV (3.2sq miles).

Plausible.

Rockstar just sent out another email saying the map can be shown. Rockstar originally sent out an email to the fansites saying keep the map offline, but they have sent another message saying it is ok to release.

Seriously. Look at the scale ! The scale is NOT complete on the map..showing approx 2000ft. That is only 610m NOT 1000m the map is NOT 18km N to S.

What things did leak today?

 

the map and a page of the car list in the GTA V strategy guide.

 

but the car list is hardly visible. just know that the guide has a car list with stats. its worth getting.

Hmm I was going by the meter scale. And got closer to 50 sq miles for entire map. Including shallow area offshore. Of course I'm just using an iPad and a piece of paper so I'm likely off. Can anyone that has a pc create a grid and post and image?

I can clarify. I still get the emails from the webmaster from rockstar who sends all the fansites emails. They originally sent an email this morning saying the bradygames map was leaked and they kindly asked everybody to remove it from their sites. About an hour ago they changed their minds and said that the map is ok to be posted on the sites.

lol So you are saying the map is not done. And that it is BIGGER then what is shown here. When you say not complete you are saying they are not even finished with it, with only 6 days left until release.

Its not the biggest map, but alright...at least we have quite a lot of nice scenic countryside. I do think that for a map the size of this it has too many airfields, 2 is enough. I mean, you fly from the Lost airfield to the military airfield and you can barely even reach any height with your plane. I just figured that from the scale and the scale came from one of the skydiving picture where you can see the land north of the city. Thing is, if the real distance from the Alamo sea to the city is as short as it seems, then it means the map is not that big. Anyways, i need a thural gameplay footage from the sky to tell anything clearly. I am however sure that LS is as large as LC or even a bit smaller. The roads and buildings and screenshots tell me that. I have played GTA4 to death and know exactly how big LC is.
