MOGGYASAURUS
I created a topic recently about GTA5 being potentially the last game I (and perhaps others of my generation – mid to late thirties and counting!) really get excited about and look forward to on my current console (because I don’t expect nor have a desire for a next gen console any time soon). As a sort of extension to that, I’m wondering whether GTA5 is going to be the ‘ultimate’ game I end up playing, because of all the experiences and games I’ve played up until this point, and a hazy future involving new consoles. The key games through my life that have had a huge impact on me and I obsessed over I can almost count on one hand (Super Mario Bros, Goldeneye, GTA Vice City, Halo, Half Life 2 and Skate) and, short of a disaster, I fully imagine GTA5 to cap that list. Obviously everyone’s gaming experiences are unique to themselves and the whole thing is entirely subjective, and I don’t want to make this sound a bit pretentious and wanky, but the more I read and see and hear of GTA5 it really feels like the game my (gaming) life has been building towards; truly massively diverse and detailed world, a refinement of game mechanics from other R* titles, perfect ‘driving song’ experiences (and that’s only from the little I’ve heard of the music – The ‘Sleepwalking’ track from the recent official trailer? That’s a song for blaring out from a top down convertible while speeding round a cliff-side bend as the sunrise/sunset filters over the horizon temporarily blinding you!), various recreational activities, and the usual plethora of new vehicles, areas, missions etc to investigate. Anyone else feel this way? Share the love!

Chukkles
Yeah, there are some games I'm interested in but they're current gen. I've no immediate interest in next gen and I know V has the potential to carry me through at least five years or more.
rdfdsv
I agree with what you are saying. This won't be the culmination of my gaming experience, because I will still play upcoming PC games, but as far as consoles go, this might be it. voltaire
I was thinking the exact same thing the other day, it's like everything I've ever enjoyed in a video game and everything I've ever wanted in a video game has been distilled into one singular gaming experience. If I had to take GTAV back in time to show my 12 year old self, I'd probably cause a paradox because his f*cking head would explode. MOGGYASAURUS
Giving this a rare bump since the forum seems to have been hijacked by a plethora of posts disappointed about the size of a map in a game they haven't played yet... Curranjo
I agree, this will more than likey be the last game i play. I dont play games anymore. i find myself getting bored very easily. GTA5 is the only one i'm really looking forward to. In saying that, if GTA 6 was to come out, i would buy that
