DarkStarfire
Since there's an inventory this time, we can probably carry food around.

HAWKMONSTER
Now when I say this I'm not trolling but I wish the health system was like it was in saints row 3. I dont like health packs that much, what do you guys think? I like health to go all the way back when not taking damage.

DarkStarfire
>Auto aim >Checkpoints >Health regen going for the CoD crowd, eh? boom.gif Auto aim needed to go. It was always terrible, and I didn't even use it in IV. And we needed mission checkpoints, because it was f*cking frustrating having to replay long-ass missions from the start. There's a difference between making a game challenging and needlessly frustrating. As far as regen goes, I'm generally fine with it as long as we can carry health items too. I hate having to stay behind cover for five minutes while it decides to kick in.

Streifenkarl
Have anybody understand the 50% health system??? Yes. If you lose an amount of health and your health bar goes under 50 percent, it regenerates to 50 percent of your health.

TheRealBars
Anything over 50% can be healed with Food, Drinks, Healthpacks and sleeping. Just like older GTA's.. but this time with a free 50%.

DrAnomalous
I had hoped they'd use the revenge save and the painkiller style pickups from Max Payne. I liked this idea I read from Kotaku's Kirk Hamilton. In Max Payne 3, you can be killed quite easily, but if you're carrying pain killers, you're allowed a "last-minute save." If you are killed while holding pills, everything goes slow-mo and you have a chance to shoot your killer. If you do so, Max downs a painkiller and keeps on going. This is a very smart method of keeping the game from being too punishing without making it too easy. You're not out of the woods, and you just used one of your precious painkillers, but all the same, you've pulled it out and will live to fight another day. Or, another five seconds. Its implementation in GTA V might require a bit of a reimagining of that game's health system, but it could also just function as a sort of "saving throw" anytime you get killed in a gunfight. You get one shot to take down your killer, and if so you get back 40% of your health. If your health reaches zero again… it's back to the checkpoint for you. DawkinsEfect
like as all the other posted has already stated, you gain the rest by eating food, drinking and maybe healthpacks. it makes the game more interesting
dyz
>Auto aim >Checkpoints >Health regen going for the CoD crowd, eh? boom.gif What do you mean?? They had auto aim in GTA 4 but you had a choice just like GTA 5, Checkpoints are a good thing, i remember i nearly did a mission then i died that have me this sh!ts and health regen is not that bad since it is only 50% and for them to put it in the game then the game must be hard. By the way RDR had regen health and it wasn't that bad.
Skozza89
Its a good system. Just means you're not invincible. I's imagine you can eat at places like burger shot or save the game when you go to the bed n it recovers fully. Or a medi pac in a hospital or something. If you lose an amount of health and your health bar goes under 50 percent, it regenerates to 50 percent of your health. I believe (as most haven't taken the time to understand) that 50% means that when shot, the amount of damage that was taken away will recharge about half. Doesn't that make more sense!? I'm holding back on calling stupid people names because I don't like doing that but some people make it real f*cking hard.

You'll only naturally regenerate up to 50% health after taking significant damage and you'll be able to top up to 100% using the usual methods you always would have in GTA.
