Take your fecking time. Seriously. GTA games don't come around often. Why would ANYBODY want to speed through it in a few days?

I will try to make it as long as possible but seriously who the hell rushes a GTA game?

Exactly.

I really didn't like the liberty city minute challenge/achievement.. I like to do tons of side missions, exploring and roleplaying in between story missions. With the amount of content in V... I won't beat it for a long time..

But I will still find time to play tons of GTAO too!

Maybe mid October for gta o. And it's obviously not a one and done experience, I will be replaying it later.

I don't see the point of beating a game as soon as you get it.

Me either. I guess some people rush through it just so they can say they beat it fast and feel good about themselves.

I like taking my time. Its a much better experience and the fun lasts longer.

Anyone can spam missions and finish the game, probably in less than a day. There's a nigga on youtube that finished III in 30 minutes. They're saying it's 100 hours, that lines up pretty well with the dreaded 70 mission estimate. I'd say the average gamer would run about 120-150 hours through the immediate storyline and some side missions. Someone like myself, that likes to spread the game out would go about 200-260 before I'm done with everything.

Still haven't come close to beating GTA 4, got it at launch

I don't rush GTA ever. I do a mission or two. Then bullsh*t for the rest of that playing period. Rinse and repeat

I've already given the characters a schedule. With Missions being (In-Game) Tuesdays and Thursdays unless otherwise needed. I'll play as each character for week and switch. Seven day schedules for all three.

In theory....I could but I won't do it. I'll be to busy enjoying every little detail that GTA V single player has to offer. When I feel I saw, heard, interacted with, and completed story, then I shall jump online.

I've waited 5 years for this game. You bet your *** I'm gonna savor every juicy moment. (Someone offer me a napkin) *drool*

I'm definitely not a fan of rushing games yet alone a GTA game but taking months to complete the story? That's just too much. I think it diminishes the impact of the story if you drag it out that much. The same as rushing it. I'll be doing all the side stuff there is to do and a lot of sightseeing/cruising around in between the missions but even with that I believe I'll be done with the story by the time Online releases since I'll have a lot of time to play the game until the end of the month.

I'm not sure how I feel about this. Part of me definitely wants to finish this beast in the 2 weeks so I am fully prepared and briefed to tackle GTA Online, but at the same time part of me realizes that a fine single player story like this is similar to sex. Even though you can go back and do it over and over again, there's just nothing quite like that first go. And do you want it to be rushed and "uhhh! I came!" in 5 minutes (2 weeks)? Or do you want it to be as amazing as possible and have it last hours (1+ months) and really enjoy it?

Damn. I don't know what to do. I guess we'll see how easily we get sidetracked from doing missions. If it's like past GTAs, I will probably end up going mission to mission, especially if the story is as gripping as GTA IV's.

I think this is the reason why many people didn't enjoy IV, because they just rushed to complete it instead of taking the game in leisurely.

I took a couple of months to complete IV, just driving around and exploring between missions, that's what the game is about.

I won't rush it just for the sake of rushing it, but I'm not going to take my sweet time. If I wanna play for 9 hrs straight I will.

I'll be damned to actually sit there, after waiting for almost two years for this game to arrive, just so I can rush the game. I seriously do not understand why people pay 60 dollars for a game, and then rush it.

Play it how you like, some people don't have the free time to make it last weeks / months... My plan is to get it and do the story first, with the odd bit of exploring. Want to build up cash / property, cars etc. Once I've got a decent amount, then it's time for exploring the island in my private jet

I have a rule that for each hour of exercise I can have an hour of gaming time.

And I won't be sitting before TV set through weekends for that matter.

Besides rushing your first play is stupid, You could miss important things and it's not fun.

I'm going all out. I think I'll have 100% by the time October 1st rolls around. If not very close. Every single ounce of my free time(which is a lot) will be dedicated to this game for the next few months to come. I can also see myself finishing the main storyline within 3 or 4 days. And then doing it again and again and again and again and, well you get the point.

If you care about the Online more than the Story, then you're playing GTA differently to me.

Edited for you :-)

Yes, some people will finish it within two days. Its a 20-25 hour game at most. This isn't San andreas.

My friend beat gta Iv in 9 hours

100 hours

I don't see any need to rush through the story.

It's not like I won't have time to play it once GTAO becomes live.

I want to make the story last and really try to immerse myself this time.

I will also try to platinum this game.

yeah but there will be at least one trophy for online that will be unattainable like "kill the entire opposite team with one rocket"

Definitely NOT with the way I play GTA games.

I tend to get distracted by 'shiny' fairly easy so GTA V will be like, ohh shiny.... wait whats that, uh ha, more shiny... HOLY SH!T check out that shiny.

Mmmm so much shiny.

Shiny being a metaphor for distraction if you didn't get it!
