Disappearing Things

In GTAIV if you travel away from certain cars/pedestrians they disappear after a short time. Will it be the same in GTAV? If you are like me and a car runs you over, you want to be able to get in a car and chase them down. Sometimes in GTAIV you'd try to do this and when you turn the street corner they've already disappeared.

How do you guys think this will play out in 5? Hopefully a little longer wait.

Thanks

Lol. Things will not disappear in GTAV, maybe the small things but not the big ones. How else would we be able to switch between characters properly?

Oh man, I hated being on a highway and like you see a nice car, you steal another car to chase it and by the time you've done that it's gone. The way GTA V seems to be, it seems like cars will HAVE to stay in the memory, like in a mission where you'd have to leave a car under a bridge or wherever to use a few missions later, obviously it wouldn't just unload. So going by that judgement hopefully things won't randomly dissapear

Yeah exactly. Thanks for the input

man I'd see things disappear right in front of my eyes. I'd be walking to a car I secured after a gunfight and it just disappears. a bit rare but still annoying.

I don't really expect this to change. Making stuff vanish outside of a certain range takes the burden of having to render more things off the hardware. Saves performance. I'd rather have pop-out than lag.

I'm sure things will stay around a bit longer than IV. However, they won't stay around for a very long time until next gen with the increased processing power and increased amount of ram.

are you high?

I just wanna say your "wanna cook Walt jnr breakfast" just made me spit Pepsi across the room. It's like a running joke in this house. You sir are a legend.

It's a memory thing. Current gen doesn't have enough RAM to remember all those things and keep the rest of the game running, that's why it has to clear them fast to make space for new stuff.

The cars you own definitely will not disappear completely from the game. That is the advantage of buying a car.

You're useless, no one wants to go to your channel. Make a proper comment idiot.

Anyway, this didn't happen that much in IV. It was annoying though. And this isn't exactly on topic, but they said that "the world doesn't just reset itself like IV, so if you blow up a car in a mission, after the mission a firetruck will arrive."
