Lately we've had several people saying the graphics are disappointing and barely look like an improvement over IV. Now whether these were trolls or just well..sorry....idiots...i have no idea, but they can't have all been trolls, as for idiots....no comment.

These screenshots mostly show the detail put into these protagonists and the pedestrians. The difference is ridiculously crystal clear. So hopefully those folks can now finally see how wrong they are? Cause if not..they need a new pair of eyeballs. Hell you can even see the arteries on Trevor's arm in the pic below this..i mean...sh*t.

I can see the similarities, especially with Michael and Niko, but 5 is still out of 4's league.

I still think the PC version of GTA IV looks better than console

GTA-ENB-Mod-125-1.jpg

that is ENB with bunch of other mods, you cant compare that. And nobody even compared GTA IV console vs PC version, OP is just saying that GTA V looks much better than GTA IV and he is right.

That looks like a modded version of GTA IV (ENB/iCEnhancer Texture overhaul)

Even if it was PC..it would only look less crisp on the console versions, certainly not less detailed characters. I've seen this with so many games on console and PC. The biggest differences are always the resolution and some more special effects and lightng perhaps. Take Witcher 2 for example...all the detailed characters were there on 360, just in no way as crisp looking.

Either way...the differeces between the pedestrian in the V shot compared to those in the IV shot is HUGE. They lack a sh*tload of detail in IV. Hell..it looks like a realistic old man in the V shot.

There is no PC version, the game is ported to PC from consoles.

I guess rockstar has updated their enhancement software since GTAIV.

Obviously.. Why even bring this up? Troll baiting?

Anyway, GTA IV on PC with all the ENB mods and sh*t looks bad IMO.

Its clear that V has better graphics than IV, especially when it comes down to the small detail. No doubt about it... but some people on these forums are overselling the graphics too.

Honestly the idiots complaining about graphics ruin it for the rest of us.

It's about GAMEPLAY, not graphics. SA was the best GTA ever because the incredible amount of diversity and customization.

GTA5 is going to blow GTA4 out of the water. The graphics DO look much better on 5, but even if they were on GTA4's level, or even slightly BELOW I wouldn't care if it had awesome gameplay.

GTA5 has mountains, car and gun customization, clothes, haircuts, mountains, mountains, mountains, jets, and all the other epic sh!t GTA4 lacked.

THAT is whats going to make this game beyond epic. Not graphics.

You think so? Cause i ain't saying that kind of praise much at all. I definitely am amazed all this is possible on this old hardware though. And all that with a stable framerate....wow.

True Mason, BUT

graphics DO add to the overall experience. Say for example you are standing on a mountain, looking at the beautful view of the water, the sun effects, the sky, the lighting, everything...and that stuff makes you go "damn this looks awesome'' and thus adds to the experience on all kinds of levels.

Even though the detail is still in the images, a lot of the definition and fine detail is lost due to stretching of smaller images. :)

You can see similarities between Niko and Michael? I can see massive improvement and differences, but nothing similar - other then them being male - also 5 is out of 4's league? English is not my main language but I think this means you infer that GTA V is inferior to GTA IV - in other words, GTA IV is better than GTA V.

Yes, it does add to the experience, however in terms of where their development hours should go, I'd way rather their hours and money goes into more gameplay and experience. The GTA4 graphic level is satisfactory. 5 is awesome.

If GTA6 had to be decided now, and they only had 500,000 hours to add to it, I'd say use GTA5 graphics and put 90% of the hours toward an epic world and insane amount of things to do and customize

and maybe only 10% toward improved graphics.

Yeah that must have been the wrong wording. I am with you man, i absolutely see very little similarities. If anything i see Max Payne's face from MP3 there, maybe even better actually. Compared to the Niko 3D model a world of difference, you can see so much detail on Mike's face while it is rather simplistic on Niko's. For the time it was great, not anymore.

I've seen Watch_Dogs on PS3 at GC and i'd go as far as to say these faces in GTA V are very very similar/on par with that.

Vanilla GTA IV is a grainy eye sore to look at nowadays. Of course when it released it looked pretty

amazing.

They sure have done some amazing things to make V look as good as it does. (And a 5 year dev. cycle sure does help)

Cant compare a trailer to actual ingame shots. Pretty certain the trailers have been touched up a bit. Sure it will be an improvement, but if you are expecting a huge improvement you are just setting yourself up for disappointment.

Im still expecting to see noticeable pop-in, short LOD draw distance and dropped frames.

In 08 this was state of the art design.

That's what I'm saying. ;) It is really grainy but still can hold it's own for today's standards.

It's about time we STOP trying to talk sense to people who are convinced about something in GTAV. Panic seems to be the first reaction anyone has towards ANYTHING concerning GTAV, especially on THIS forum.

If someone thinks the graphics are the same as GTAIV, don't respond to it. Chances are, they are either trolling, or they are PC fanboys trying to initiate another flamewar. Even if there is a chance they BELIEVE the graphics are the same, you aren't going to change their mind anyway.
