yungkrease
RDR and midnight club because it'll more than likely look like RDR (which Im fine with) and driving is like Midnight club (which i'm NOT fine with)

GTAFan0913
All. Here is why: RDR - This will give you a good idea of what to expect graphics wise and also give a taste of what to expect in the country parts of GTA V. Also animals, hunting, and the weapon wheel. GTA4 - This allows you to see the improvements, but really that's about it other than enjoying the game. MP3 - This will give you a pretty solid idea of the gunplay mechanics for V. MC - This one to get an idea of the car customization, but other than that its about it. Maybe the atmosphere a little bit as well. Overall they are all small pieces to the larger GTA V puzzle. If possible, play them all! ChocoFrosty, Duxfever and ysocreus
ImpotentRage
I would say play through GTA IV one last time to see just how much R* has improved in all categories. Jimmyhetfield

Car customization is. Not driving mechanics. Imagine IV but more stable and solid.
roiegat
Is midnight Club worth picking up? They have it for 20 bucks locally so not too bad to pick up if the driving will be similar in GTA V.

Freezer89
RDR - for the environment, weapon wheel and random encounters Max Payne 3 - for the shooting, walking and coversystem and weapon wheel LA Noire - for the feel of Los Angeles (but only Downtown and 70 years ago) GTA IV - for everything and that all the stuff will be improved in V MC:LA - for the city and driving and the zoom out (from ingame to the map)

sufferblind86
I recently bought MCLA on XBL, and the driving is pretty bad. Can't turn properly when I try to, and I hate that it peels out even when I barely touch the gas. Hopefully they only used certain elements for V, so it's a marriage between MC and IV. CookieMonsterRawr
Max Pain 3. Similar walking styles/shooting style. Especially is they are adding bullet time now. I'd also mix it with a bit of Midnight Club:LA. For the driving.
