OP, why would there only be snow on a really small part of the mountain but nowhere else, not even at a higher altitude? I doubt it is snow. It just looks like a far away texture of a mountain, nothing more. In fact, the more you zoom in, the less it looks like snow and the more it looks like light hitting that part of the mountain. It depends on the altitude of the land and the temp. I live in a place where it's 115 degrees if its 90 one day and it's rainy there will be snow on the mountains and tops of canyons...
