GamerToons Posted September 9, 2013 Share Posted September 9, 2013 I know that the UK allows predownloads but I've never really seen a clear answer for the US. Obviously my concern is if it is released for DL at 12:01am everyone and their moms will be downloading a 18 gig file. I will sleep through the DL but knowing PSN it probably won't be done tuesday morning. When I preordered, I assumed that predownload would be an option Friday through the weekend. So does anyone know about PSN US and predownloads? DualDrive Posted September 9, 2013 Share Posted September 9, 2013 Well it would be Stupid to let the preload on the 17th at least on the 15th-16th it's a big download.. and it's kind of stupid to let people download on the 17th.. it will be so slow so many ppl will download the game and you know what happens?? I have the game pre-ordered from the North American PSN store myself, and I'm quite certain that if pre-loading isn't an available option that it could take several hours (8-10+) for my abysmal 12-2 connection. If you bought it at the US store, you CANNOT download it from the EU store. You will not have a pre-load unless you have an EU PSN account and you bought it at the EU PSN. Pre-load has never been available for North America, it's only for the European PSN service. It's not going to magically appear for GTAV in NA. Depending on his internet connection (speed, reliability, etc.), it could take anywhere from two to ten hours to complete. Some games are 2mbs some are slower than paint drying. My issues with a 12:01 DL release is everyone will do it at once so I figured if they gave us a couple days in advance it would be nice Either way it will all work out. Does Israel use the EU PSN for it's region? Either way, whatever you say. I don't care to argue, I have just always seen and heard that EU is the only PSN region store that offers the option to pre-load. The North American store is what this thread is about and the NA store does not have pre-load. That much is true. @lazloisdavrock The unlock goes by west coast time, PST, I do believe and it's unlocked from the server for everyone. So people who are not on the west coast have to wait for it to be 12:01 for the PST timezone to begin their download. Unfortunately for those on the east coast (EST time zone) they are 3 hours ahead of the west coast, so they must wait until 3:01 a.m. to begin the download as that's when the server will unlock it because it'll be 12:01 on the west coast.
