Anything can happen in GTAV. All those people that were saying "Err rockstar are heading in a realistic direction, they would never do anything of the sort" Guess again! If they actually did make the alien dlc, I seriously doubt it would be considered canonical. It'd just be a fun little else-worlds tale that makes use of the same characters and settings we love. I seriously don't get all the people objecting to this idea, I don't remember hearing any kind of back-lash when they announced Undead Nightmare (Bearing in mind that Red Dead takes place in the GTA Universe). Not sure if I'd say Rockstar are just going to up-and-abandon any realism GTA V has, if they do make alien DLC it'll probably be non-canon like Undead Nightmare. Granted there is a lot of alien easter-eggs in the current game, but I think it's fair to say things like that aren't meant to be taken seriously as part of the game's world, like how every city is in the middle of a never-ending ocean.
