Shaisgs
Hi, I'm not much of a gamer but I am a big fan of GTA. I don't have any gaming console. I know that there is a decent chance that it will eventually come to PC. However, I've been wondering if I should buy the cheapest Xbox I can find (cheaper than PS3 where I live) just so I can play GTA? It feels kind of a waste of money, especially since I want to buy it for PC IF it does come out. What do you guys think?
Braindawg
I bought my 360 especially for V. I got RDR:GOTY Edition with it, but my 360 is only 4 GB so I'm gonna have to buy a 16GB USB to play V. Sucks thought, but I enjoyed RDR A LOT. And I know I won't get my ass of the 360 once V is out. Gdog
if you don't want to wait for pc version then buy a console to play it on. if you think it's a waste of money then don't buy it. you gotta decide for yourself what to do. either "waste money" and buy a console and play the game or just wait, save your money, and play it on pc. Fuzzknuckles
I bought my 360 for IV. Barely played it since completing IV, except for Skyrim. I also bought my PS3 for IV. Yeah, I'm totally loaded, by the way. Signatures are dumb anyway.
Marc79
I would try to find a decent used system either Xbox or Ps3, whichever is cheapest. Try Ebay or Craigslist for starters. Personally I Would Not pay a full price on a new system just to play one game, plus new consoles are coming out very soon, it would be a waste of money. Because of the bad PC-Port i've bought IV as well. And then some other games. Dont forget: there are plenty great games for console, which are really cheap by now. When you're buying a 360 (my new Slim was just 99 euro), you could easily buy 2 or 3 used games. Its a great value. V is it worth to buy a console, no matter which. gonnaenodaethat
Yes you should buy a console just for GTA V! As for your thoughts on waiting for it to come out on PC and stating that your not much of a general gamer I would assume that your PC is maybe a standard desktop? GTA IV needed a pretty decent rig to run it well and I'm thinking this will be the same with V. Personally I am buying it for the Xbox and when the PC version releases I will sell on my console disc - taking into account GTA Online it should hold its value pretty well and I will only have to pay very little cash, if any at all, to buy the PC version. evelpod666, Nikhilmao, TELEMUNDINI and 2 others

Red Hat
I bought a PS3(during Christmas 2012) just for GTA V and I bought RDR and SR III so that the time will fly. And it did But now I have finished both the games and it is boring.
ProTrainFollower
On Shopto.net you can get the GTA V PS3 bundle with 500GB for £200, plus The Last of Us free. That's a great deal in my opinion. Also on PS3 you don't have to pay for online, so I'd go with that option if I were you. TheRealBars
Why teh heck would you buy an XBOX to pay like 60$/€/whatever for online gaming??? Tell me WHY???? Dude, just go for a PS3 I'm on PS3 mainly.. but have you ever played online on an Xbox? The experience is alot better than on the ps3 i guarantee you that.. Party Chat, Stable voice chat channels in-game, dedicated servers.. yeah.. Hell even the dashboard and looking at other players profiles, the friend system and reporting/muting players is a million times more intuitive. (muting can be done from dashboard and the game score menus in case the game doesn't feature a mute) BF3 is a good example; Took Dice and sony almost a year to get decent VOIP going.. whereas on Xbox it was fine from day 1, and even if it didn't work you could always fall back to Party chat. If you play online a lot and work in a team/crew.. I'd say the 5 euros a month is worth it for me. Such a shame the XB1 is sh*te, now i have to go for my competitive online gaming to PS4 (which is going to charge for online play as well).. hope the XMB is going to be alot better. jdwarfer
I had a few games already, and my console died. But I wouldn't buy a new one without GTA V coming. So I did it. It's just impossible for me to wait 6 months or more for the PC release.

Equity
If you're planning on playing GTA: Online you may want to get the ps3 since the online is free.
