Why is it a bad thing, have you seen anything that makes you think they blew all the money on meth and hookers and made a sh*tty game?

Wrong. GTA V IS the most expensive game ever, not "one of them".

Also, yes you f*ck. A big budget IS a good thing.

Actually it is a good thing. That means you get a better game and a really good quality. Now that i see the budget, i understand why Rockstar delayed the game from Spring...

This is an entirely arbitrary chart that doesnt show all the big budget movies that became both critical and box office hits alike...

If I buy a Ferrari F50 and a Toyota Prius... don`t you think they`ll race more or less based on their price? This is the theory, where mechanics are involved.

About movies and their respective budgets, depends solely on their demographics. For instance, to me, ALL of the above movies are some horrendous attempts at.. nothing. I am sure I can find some decent zombie hordes that will try to prove me wrong.

GTA 5 is, up to date, THE most expensive game around. The jury is still out on how well those money were spent, however.

How can we say if tis worth it until we have played it?

However the budget they had for the last game was well worth it by the money they got back from it. Time will tell.

Leave it to one of the fat 10 year olds on gtav.net to actually compare GTA V's budget to Pirates of the Caribbean's budget and use that as evidence of GTA V being unsuccessful financially.

Haven`t we already established that the non-existing PC version will look better than the non-existing PS3 version, which looks exactly as the outdated GTA 4?

Isn`t this proof enough for you?!

If a budget this big is in the hands of a good developer who will spend it wisely, then the answer is,
YES of course it's a f*cking good thing.

GTA V will make that money back within the first 24 hours of release. It was a good investment, and they will be reaping the benefits for years to come.

Lock n' Stock

Movies and games are not the same thing, silly. I swear, the closer the game comes to release, the more stupid threads get.

I'll spell it out for you OP....

GTA is a computer game at its core.

Everything else you list is a cheap version of the movie packaged in a computer game for the soul purpose of bleeding a franchise.

You're comparing computer games to movies essentially.

Its wrong, because V includes Marketing$$$ while the other dont.

The Marketing for Avatar was like 150m $

You compare Movies to a game... dude whats wrong with you.. Movies has to follow the scrip, script written to bring 8yr old boy, teenager, adult and elder people to cinema..

GTA is made for specific type of players who likes this kind of game

And given the fact that it`s a bit longer than your average 2 hours "Blockbuster", it`s pretty nice, too.

They already have with all of the pre-orders.
