Daily Activities

In the newswire post about the special and collector's editions, Rockstar said about online characters:

"GTA Online introduces a new spin on traditional character creation with the hereditary-based creation system. Select your characters appearance by choosing your parents heritage, then use the gene dominance meter to dial-in which parent your appearance favors more. Additionally, you'll customize your character's daily activities - everything from family time to illegal work and sports to couch potato hours all have an impact on your characters appearance and skill set (and you can always rank up your skill stats more via gameplay)."

A lot of people have been asking what R* meant by this. At first glance, it would seem to just be saying what you do when playing will effect your character's stats. But it clearly says after that your gameplay will affect it also.

My theory is that, similar to single-player, when you switch into your character, he'll be going about his own life. What you set as his/her daily activities will be what you might pop into when you switch over. He could be working out at the gym, ripping off a convenience store, in a police chase, or just hanging out at home eating and watching Republican Space Rangers. It would make the transition from single-to multi-player even more seamless of a transition.

Do you guys think I'm right? See a flaw in my theory? Have a better option? Post below.

That sounds like a pretty good theory and I'd love to see that be the way its done.

I think its stating that your "activities" give you an advantage in certain skills when you start playing but all of them will increase as you play. I really like your theory though so I hope you are right about that.

I think you're right. It will be just like when you switch to your single player characters. Your MP guy will be doing one of multiple scenarios based upon what you chose for his personality.

It will also affect your strating stats. If you chose driving as one of your character's hobbies, then obviously you will start with driving as one of your higher skills.

I think those activities will decide your avatar`s build - height, weight, scars, etc. Possibly roaming / location habits, too.

IMO.

SuperDuperGta

I think thats a good point, you're probably right.

I think its also a 'tool' for changing your characters appearance and skill set during character creation so that our characters don't all look the same.

Coach potato = fat

Sports = lean

Family Time = kind looking

illegal work = badass looking
