Will Checkpoints Auto Save Your Save Game File?

During missions, when you reach checkpoints, will they save your game? Or only temporarily allow you continue that mission from the checkpoint?

I hope it doesn't undermine me turning auto save off.

in red dead there was a hidden auto save game save that would load if you didn't sleep in a bed and would appear when you went to load a game., then you had 3 other slots for your official save, such as when you sleep in your bed.

I f*cking hope so, nothing I hate more than having to repeat my steps over and over again.

They did say something about missions kinda making checkpoints at key moments - I vaguely remember something like "if you have a difficult to make jump, it will save once you make it, so you won`t have to fail it again", or something.

Whether this is a full blown save, or a temporary checkpoint between saves (like when you pick up the mission, then when you finish it), I don`t know for sure.

I just hope the game is auto saving from time to time, I would love to see my real stats in GTA IV, I've spent hundreds of hours in the game but I always forget to save before I shut it down. Yes, Im one of those stats guy who love to watch how many people I have killed and so on.

I hate auto save. It's not that hard to save after a mission, and you never have to worry about it saving something you want to re-do.

I always thought the way saving the game progression was brilliant throughout the GTA franchise. Tapes in VIce City. USB Sticks in current gen.

A lot of games these days use an auto save feature. Usually, the auto save file is a separate save file from your original. You can still manually create and save a game, but the auto save is more or less used as a 'just in case' option. Auto save won't save over your manual save files, but instead just gives you a place to pick up close to where you left off, if say you have a power outage, forget to save, etc. Of course, this will be used in missions for checkpoints as well, but that won't have any effect on your manual save files. Whether you can toggle them on/off, you'll have to wait until next Tuesday to find out.

It wont save into your save file... it will save temporary until you turn the game off. If you load the game later, youll start from your save. Just like RDR
