They said it was unbecoming for youth to be exposed to the game. Never shoot one, never run one over, never hit one with my fists or a weapon. I said Mom, Dad, I'm 34 years old I can make my own decisions. To answer your question though, nah I won't hesitate any more for the women than for the men. If you look at the science/psychology behind killing and the effects it has on team morale, survivor's guilt and related mental stability, it actually makes a big difference. In many countries, and most parts of the world, including North America, women were denied from active combat roles for those exact reasons - mainly that men tend to either: i) hesitate to kill a woman (which can get you or your buddies killed), and ii) fly into a blood-thirsty murderous rage upon seeing a female companion get killed or wounded, moreso than a male counterpart. I'm not making this sh*t up either - the only reason I know off the top of my head is because I'm almost finished reading a book called "On Killing: The Psychological and Physiological Consequences of Killing in War Time and Peace" (it's actually an extremely interesting book, I highly recommend it). A man dieing would affect more, because men dieing = less fight power = higher chance to lose. What would make sense is in terms of evolutionary psychology: A woman carries a baby, and therefore you're supposed to protect woman to keep survival and replication value. When women WERE in active combat roles (i.e. fighting frontline), women dieing = less fighting power = higher chance to lose. And yah, I'm sure evolutionary psychology does play a big reason in why men fly into a blood-thirsty murderous rage, but all I know is that it is well-documented and patently the case that men who saw their female comrades wounded or killed in action were much more likely to get angrier and act less rationally.
