Even if R* says it's not possible, I'm not ruling out the possibility of CJ being mentioned in the game. Or even just in a commercial or graffiti picture on the wall or something. I seriously think they are kids who's first GTA was San Andreas. They played previous GTAs only to get known of the characters and then went back to San Andreas, not like older people who played previous GTA games since release and understand that GTA universe has much more interesting characters than CJ. He's considered by Rockstar as a mythical creature. Their storylines wouldn't make sense because the city and landscape changes entirely. Grove Street Families/Ballas/Lazlow can cross universes as they're brand names, similar to car names, Sprunk, etc. Lazlow's storyline can cross universes because he never appeared in person prior to the HD universe. If there is another universe after the HD universe, Lazlow wouldn't be able to appear in person again. A reference to CJ as a character wouldn't make sense as he never existed. Something similar to the Claude outfit could exist, but people talking about CJ as if he existed wouldn't make sense as once again, he doesn't exist in the HD universe. Characters from CJ's storyline also couldn't cross universes. Their houses wont be in the game, although a similar looking area may exist. Since no one from GTA III showed up in GTA IV the likelyhood of CJ appearing in GTA V is practically zero. A small reference would be fine however. Current-day Los Santos is not going to remember a gangbanger from 20 years ago. And look, I get why you want a subtle reference or nod to him and really that's not too unrealistic. There was a painting of Misty from GTA III on the side of a building in GTA IV. I'm aware the gang is called "The Families". Right now I'm trying to find the article that mentioned the street name changed. I keep thing Stadium or Rodeo, but I'm not sure as I briefed it during an information blowout. I'm trying to find the name now though. I'll get back here when I find it. The Families had sub-gangs, one of them was Grove Street Families in San Andreas. I can see easter egg in form of his clothes or something like RIP CJ, but not a ped speaking about CJ. What would he say? I have a friend CJ who lives in Los Santos, who made milions of money and killed milions of people, but you dont know him probably. The gang is The Families. What you're referring to is a small portion of the gang.
