After all, they used real gang members to make GTA V in our universe! Actually it might not be too much of a stretch for them to include an earlier GTA on the in-game phone, though GTA SA is probably a bit big. I really hate the whole "different universe" crap, because it not only derails harmless threads like this, but also eliminates many cool possibilities about ways Rockstar could implement tie ins from the past. It's also entirely possible the III era was a series of movies in the HD era, which would allow Rockstar to bring back the old characters as 'actors'.
