JoblessGarrett
Ran into this article earlier today that Rockstar had a Budget of $265 MILLION DOLLARS............... I’ve seen Grand Theft Auto grow, I have watched as the series has evolved into something phenomenal, more than I could’ve ever imagined. From the birds-eye view classic Grand Theft Auto original in 1997, to that of Grand Theft Auto IV, and now GTA V. And it is such a great feeling to see the game that you loved so dearly as a little kid, become so big and still so relevant all those years later, coming up 16 years to be exact. Moving onto the point, Rockstar Games have always put so much effort into each and every title they release, and Grand Theft Auto is no exception, the sales figures are record breaking, shipping over 127 million copies in it’s lifetime, and it’s with no surprise. Now as we are gearing up towards the release of Grand Theft Auto V, cost’s are popping up through interviews and such and it is rumoured that GTA V has a development budget of £170m ($265m) of which Rockstar Games have already racked back in via pre-orders and is expected to shift 25 million copies in the first year alone, achieving sales of £1bn.Video Form: Crazy!! Im super excited

Gsnipe
Keep in mind that includes the cost of Marketing. and to be honest the marketing will be quite a lot, as usual for big tittle games, especially Rockstar games. They are pushing it hard, and have already made all that money back just in pre-orders so this is not a shocking number to be honest, considering it took 5 years to make and level of detail within the game. If GTA IV was $100 million, and that included marketing, it's still an amazing increase. I'm starting to think when Rockstar said GTAV was as big as San Andreas, IV, and Red Dead combined, that's not far off from a budget perspective or a map size perspective. Monge305
Im not surprised because they take no shortcuts to make an enjoyable game. All the small details they add make it better. I remember the first time i heard the squeaking of the break pads in IV when you stopped your car. Its crazy how they include small things like that in a video game.
