QuietSundayLibrary
I sat in a hospital room for three hours while I had kidney stones. I was allowed no medicine for the pain or water to quench my thirst, despite the fact that I was severely dehydrated at the time. It was the worst pain and discomfort I have ever experienced. I can wait eight more days for GTA V without a problem. Perhaps the most aggravating thing about kidney stones is the flank discomfort, mild fever and occasional chills and fatigue. The WORST. I had it pretty bad I was told. I woke up (on US election day, no less) with bad lower back pain. I put a heating pad on it. It got better, but eventually it grew worse and worse. It got so bad I threw up violently and popped many blood vessels in my eyes and face. This is what one eye looked like. It was much more red when I took a better pic with my phone. I didn't go to the hospital until about midnight. That looks absolutely atrocious; how long did you go without medical assistance? I allowed the pain to overtake me after about three or four weeks. It was brutal.

sufferblind86
I started experiencing symptoms of the stones on exactly July 14th, 2012. I remember because I was on my way home from a friend's birthday party when the pain first kicked in. It went away after some ibuprofen and just waiting it out. I had more pain for a few days, but nothing too extreme. Just really uncomfortable. Then on November 5 I ended up getting sick at work and had to leave (no back pain yet, just nausea) I went to go to the clinic (didn't have health insurance at the time) and it was $90 to see the doctor, so I said forget it (didn't know it was the stones at the time). Funnily enough, I then went and put $10 on my GTA V pre-order since it was along the way home. The next day I woke up with the back pain. I ended up having one in each kidney that were considered average size. Took five days to pass them, but it actually didn't hurt too bad once they did. It was just a huge relief. They suck don't they? I feel bad for people who get them frequently.

AtomicPunk
Okay I want to hear your comparison of the wait of this game to something you have been through for me. The wait for this game is worse then the time I had Surgery on my spine. I just had spine surgery #2 and the wait wasn't too bad. I enjoyed some time off. On Topic: It's like waiting at the doctors office, which is something I despise with a passion. I've waited for 5 years so the next 8 days won't be too bad, but still, hell enough. I know what you mean, I've spent as much time in hospitals and getting surgerys then I have not seeing a doctor. It was what happens after my surgery that was worse then the wait my spinel fluid started to leak it was sooooo bad I know what that's like. This time a disc exploded and penetrated my nerve sack and spinal cord. They had to use some sort of sealant on it. Having back problems sucks, especially for me because I'm a very active person. I guess all the hard work I done when I was younger, combined with my thrill seeking, hell raising ways, combined with jumping around on stage, has really done some damage. I had surgery back in early July and I'm still not right or back up to par. I still have a ways to go. OT: I think the worst part about waiting is the waiting. Anyone else agree? Emergency_Room
Deciding which is worse between the wait for GTA V or Kidney Stones there is no question kidney stones wins hands down. I wound up going to the emergency room twice because of the pain in my side. The first time I thought at first my appendix was acting up but the pain was on the oppisite side. Then I thought I had ate something the day before. Finally I went to the Emergency Room and the pain stopped. They said I had probably passed them. Guess what. A few weeks later I wake up in an intense amount of pain and go back to the emergency room. That time they put me in the hospital and put me on something they said was stronger than morphine. Three days later when it was obvious said stone was not going to pass they done lipsotripsy. What was funny about that was that the only place they had in the entire hospital (which is huge) to do it was an operating room located in the eye center. The nurse said they used to do it in a van and I told her they could do it on the roof for all I care as long as they do it. kmanmx
It doesn't help that I am constantly reminded of these game everywhere I go. People are making GIFs and jokes about it all over the net. People are commenting in youtube music videos "I'm going to listen to this when playing V". Even when I try to distract myself, it's right in my face. I felt as though I were trapped in a sauna, trapped within the rolls of a one thousand pound man. Sluggish, nauseated. This didn't pass until a week or two after I was alleviated of the malady, either. Again, it was almost like enduring Scarlatina again.

I loved those 'Need For Speed' games on PS2, but I felt they changed too much after that. Grid almost captured it for me. Almost.
Udrift
To compare it to something directly, it's almost as bad as waiting to get back to the States from Iraq. Back to freedom and my own clothes. It's a worse wait in some ways, and in some not as bad.
