If it was yearly the detail wouldn't be as good, the game would lose quality and the hype would decrease big time. I like that they took their time with this and I honestly think it was well worth the wait. Yearly installments are good for just taking up a little bit of time, but a game like this is one I'll be playing for the next decade maybe (or at least until 6 is released), hell IV has lasted me this long and I'll probably still play it a little when I have GTA V.

I figure at least three years should be the minimim now for a good enough game. I definitely would not want them to be pushed out every year at this point. Every two at most, but rather at least three to give R* plenty of time.

Red Dead Redemption almost counts as an installment so it's 3.5 years since then. L.A. Noire and Max Payne 3 are good but go their own ways and left me wanting what was missing.

 

I think it'll be worth the wait, that the extra years will make it be more than GTA IV with a new map, which what we'd get it had only been two years or so.

 

At the same time, we're entering a new reality where Rockstar is promising to keep updating V and Online. That's a big change because other than making improvements when revisiting a map with a partially new game like the Stories or Episodes, when Rockstar's been done with a game they haven't looked back much. What these "updates" will be is a mystery, but maybe long waits will be broken up with more new things in the future.

A new GTA should drop every three(3) years. Not before, not after. Five(5) years is just too fuc*ing long. Hell, it may be even longer before we see the next GTA, which is sad because next gen and all. Hopefully, we'll get a PS4 Fallout to ease the wait. If console makers had any damn sense, they would plan better and have games like GTA, Fallout, and a few other bad ass games headlining so they could sell systems. I don't see no reason to buy a next gen system yet.

I don't have any problems with them making a new game every 5 years... well maybe the hype bugs me a little too much but we survive.

People are too greedy, the way GTA is set up is perfect right now. Even after you complete 's story, we will have GTA:O to enjoy for many years. R* can take 10 years to make GTA VI for all I care, because I know it'll be perfect.

 

Not even mentioning possible Bully 2 or another Red Dead Redemption.

When I saw that the march release has been delayed I became so upset but now I see that releasing it in september will be so much better cuz' rockstar will have more time to do it! V will make history!
