I'm glad he's giving GTA IV props, but the hate on V seems a little...misguided. Couple years from now when GTA VI is announced, there will probably be more articles about why GTA VI will suck, and he will say "No multiple protagonists? No Interest." It had been a concern of mine for some time that V would be dumbed down to appeal to the idiots who complained about IV having bad gameplay just because it didn't feature jetpacks, purple dildos and cars that handled like shopping trolleys. However, having watched and read everything released so far, I am confident that it won't suck, that it will be even better than IV. Perhaps the greatest game of the generation. 73duster Posted September 9, 2013 Share Posted September 9, 2013 I think people are misunderstanding the article to a point. I saw the article as more of a PRO GTAIV article, than ANTI GTAV article. We should take into account the fact that this article was written well over a YEAR ago, and the point the writer was trying to make was that his prediction about GTAV was solely based on fans negative reaction towards GTAIV, and how Rockstar would try to implement more of the features we see in Saints Row. Obviously, I disagree with his opinion, but I DO understand the point he was trying to make. GTAIV was underrated by fans who complained about it's somewhat different direction. People complained that it became TOO SERIOUS, and the writer felt that in trying to give fans what they wanted, GTAV would be worse off for it. I bet that this guy feels different today, but he chose to gamble and let his balls hang out in the wind. Again, his opinion was way off, but I understand the reasoning behind his prediction. woggleman Posted September 9, 2013 Share Posted September 9, 2013 I was worried that they would make it too Saints Rowish to please the people who bashed IV for the somewhat darker direction but I see my fears were unfounded. It still looks to be a great and immersive game that also has a lot of toys to play plus customization and property. It should be enough to make everybody happy though many will complain that it isn't wacky like SR IV and it doesn't have a dubstep gun or an inflato ray.
