Shayd80
Yep I cleaned my 360 2 weeks ago, i bought it for GTA 4 in 2008 but I don't use it a lot since i'm mainly a PC player but still it was durty, I was scared to get the RROD playing GTA 5 so i decide to clean it and it's really easy if you have the tools ... Also a friend of mine give me his 360 because he doesn't play anymore and now i can say i'm ready for the game, if i get a RROD ( hopefully not ) i'll have another consol And for these who want to do it but don't know how, you can find great videos showing how to open it carefully ! Just to show you how dirty it was ( just fans ) Before : After : Edited September 8, 2013 by Sharks80fr
Omnifarious
Wait, Patriot, what does your work history have anything to do with this? Ummm, good for you, working for 20 years...

MintBerryCrunch
My 360 acts funny when trying to play certain games from disc. Arkham City had to be installed to HDD for me to play because halfway through loading I kept getting 'disc not recognised' error. Not sure whats causing that but installing a game seems to fix it. I just hope I have no problems next week. Just need to get lucky and install both discs once without getting that error and I'll be OK from there onwards. Patriot_Action
Wait, Patriot, what does your work history have anything to do with this? Ummm, good for you, working for 20 years... By "working for ~20 years" I meant that over my near 20-year history of playing video games, I've never had problems with dust killing a console, and cleaning the outside has worked just fine. Nice try with the snappy comeback though. Edited September 8, 2013 by Patriot_Action
BananaJo3z
You can clean consoles? I run a Swiffer thing across the top once a week. I don't recommend ANYONE open a console and try to clean the inside of it. How do you even manage to get 3 disks in there? that would be his skill, my friend

DryBomber5
I've had my xbox since Dec 08 and it still works to this day. The only issue with my xbox is that the disc tray has problems opening (probably because I've slammed it shut multiple times out of anger) but other then that, it runs. I was almost gonna buy a new one but I changed my mind, as this will likely be the last video game I ever play.
K1NGCLIFTON14
I have a brand new Xbox sitting upstairs in my Bedroom after I thought my old one had become faulty & purchased another. Vowed not to use it until V comes out. Just hope my TV doesn't break or the V disk gets damaged.
leeoggy
doesn't opening it up void the warranty? Do you honestly have the time to send it back and wait for a new one to arrive? well..yes...if i needed to

I'll go with the majority here, and say clean your consoles kids. let my Gateway rot in dust once, fried it all to hell and a fire started up inside, melting half the thing in a mater of minutes.
