Durden
Anyone that wouldn't pay a consistent fee for GTAO needs to re-evaluate their life. Gaming life, I mean. R* would be offering the greatest gaming experience to ever exist for a small fee each month (meaning you would never need another video game again), but no. Instead, R* are offering the greatest gaming experience to ever exist FOR FREE. I'm happy that GTAO is free, but I think (and hope) that R* charge people for it later down the line. So people get the feel for it, and realize just how amazing it is, and then BAM, they have to support R* (which will enable them to make better games in the future). caligula87
It has started to really get out of hand with the ADHD kids screaming and shouting at everyone. They don't shout at everyone. They shout at people who create dumb threads. Well, OP's thread is probably the dumbest thread in history of mankind. People like OP basically beg R* to charge us for GTA Online. For your information, R* isn't blind. You don't want them to change their minds, do you?

Smith John
I know what you mean OP, it is amazing we are getting it for free! I used to enjoy reading these forums but it has started to really get out of hand with the ADHD kids screaming and shouting at everyone. I only counted one or two constructive posts. Yeah, I remember when this place was actually a pleasure to visit as well. Thank god the game comes out in little over a week. bash the fash m8s

FranklinDeRoosevelt
OP, I know what you are trying to say but that is one ridiculous idea. This isn't going to bring profit, instead they are going to go through losses because it IS a part of the game. It should be how it is now, and now they are going to easily earn a £1 billion in the first 6 months. Watch. GTAV92
Xbox users have to pay for online anyway, If you want Xbox users too pay for GTA online then get in touch with Microsoft and tell them too donate the money we pay for Xbox live and give it to Rockstar! poklane
I'll support GTA Online if they'll release good DLC for it and maybe some micro transactions, but as soon as they charge a monthly fee I'll give them the finger. Backfire6
If they charged. I would NEVER pay them a dime. MP was always free. Making it cost money wouldn't make any sense....
98 in 1
@LazyBoyEight So you work for Rockstar then? Or have you actually made a video game before with an online component? Like I said before, there's more to it than that. Due to the fact that this is not only GTA where there are so many things going on at once leading to more variables that need accounting for, it simply can't be that simple. R* has to take in consideration all the possibilities of each and every mission that is available. You can't just simplify it to copy paste missions. Frankly, that's absurd. Anyway this is getting off topic. Edited September 8, 2013 by mr6plow9
RetardOfTheYear
I hope you are just trolling, Imagine if GTA V didn't have a multiplayer mode? Yep, GTA ONLINE is GTA V multiplayer mode, it's the same game you buy and you wouldn't look on this game as you do, if it didn't have that multiplayer mode already... They just give themselve many options to extend the online mode way beyond the scope of GTA V that's all, but what you buy now, is the same game, and not a separate one, don't be fooled. killahmatic
Most of the missions will just be "go here kill these guys" or "steal this" or "steal that". They're not detailed missions with cutscenes like in singleplayer. Actually, they will have cutscenes and be singleplayer-like missions. Thats why GTA:O has been such a big deal. It's NOT f*cking free, I have to buy a game for it. As soon as somebody is charging money for a part of a game I already bought for €80,- (special edition) they can f*ck off. Like I said earlier, I'll support them if they release good DLC and micro-transactions, but that's all. They make enough money off the standard game, and then they can make some extra millions with DLC. FenderFlix
I think they should be doing microtransactions. Let people who want to support pay for some worthy extra content. Not like the ripoff deals EA are doing. Monthly fee would be bad. I think R* wants as many people as possible to play GTAO. But if they are really going to expand the map over time, they won't be offering that for free. I think people need to be aware of the fact that developing games is expensive. Very expensive. Companies cannot offer an infinite amount of content for free. Edited September 8, 2013 by FenderFlix
Jimmy Darmody
There's 2 other things that could be added: - GTAO is not a MMORPG. It's a Multiplayer mode. It's differnt. WoW is a MMORPG and it's legit you pay for that sh*t because the company who made it lives out of it. GTAO is a multiplayer from GTA V, just like GTA IV has it's own multiplayer. - IT'S f*ckING GENIUS MARKETEEING. People will buy the game because there's gonna be a MASSIVE multiplayer mode, wich is GTAO. but GTAO ceasing to be free? = People having one less reason to buy = less $$$$$$

I'm guessing the idiots who are saying they love to pay for this 'free separate game' are a bunch of stupid kids who don't even work snd their parents are buying them the game. If R* is doing that (wouldn't surprise me that much) then i'm sorry but i ain't paying. Period. I got absolutly nothing against who does, but i have more stuff to spend my money and time on, and get more fulfillment and enjoyment out of it. But like i said, i respect that. Can also be viewed as a low blow from R* by a lot of players, because it's simply hard to pay for something that was once free. It's a marketteing rule. Add to that the fact that a lot of people are buying GTA V because of the AWESOME GTAO for free extra and well... may turn out bad.
RisingLegend
700 missions means you're full of crap. They shouldn't charge us for online at all, nor should all these companies that do, it's daylight robbery, you pay £50 for a game and have to pay extra for the whole thing ? Me thinks not. The fact that gta online is free is beautiful and reminds me of the time when gaming companies weren't run by malevolent, incapable, greedy douchebags. Johan
Should? What are you some kind of fan boy? Doesn't matter how much content is in the game, we paid for it and that's all. Just because it's unusual to see this much content in a game doesn't mean it should get treated differently.

mattfab
I'm sick of these kind of topics saying "we" or "everyone" should be paying extra money for this game. Stfu. Many of us already pay for xbox live, many of us have paid more than 60$ for the game(ce and se), we have all payed for our consoles, and I'm assuming there will be a decent amount of people (including myself) buying more memory, a new headset/controller etc JUST to play gta v. Why don't you go send rockstar a damn check for however much you think YOU should be paying rockstar for online. I can guarantee the vast majority of GTA O missions are activated by phonecalls or text messages. A bit like Midnight Club LA's mission structure. This is not some 64 player MMO- this is a 16 player multiplayer mode. They can charge for additional content, but the base gta online experience needs to be free. That's all there is to it. I'm not paying a monthly fee for a mode I already bought.
