That's hardly what they were trying to do at all. Fun fact: They have admitted in an IGN interview that they are fans of GTA and wanted to make a better version of it. They obviously succeeded since Rockstar lifted a lot of the first game's mechanics for GTA IV. The GPS system, post-mission autosaves, 360 degree aiming from vehicles, and the cell phone mechanic, for starters. What a bunch of crap, what proof do you have that they took those things from SR ? I know what you mean though, got bored of Saints Row after about 4 minutes, hope you like the driving in it though cause that's how GTA V is gonna handle after the campaign for arcade handling. My proof is that Saints Row 1 came out two years earlier, with all the features I mentioned, and GTA IV conveniently had all the same features when it came out two years later.
