Good idea to have this pony. It will be interesting to see others view on the game

My only concern is the ones who will try to give spoilers about the game (even tthough

we will all get it at around the same time there is still a chance that people will play

far ahead then others and leak a spoil).

This is GTAForums. Where the most ambitious GTA advocates come to discuss GTA. Look at the mapping thread. Look at the Screenshot Fun thread. You think this community isnt capable of rating 5 different categories each on a scale of 5, to achieve an overall score.

 

This isnt IGN. This is where chumps like IGN and CVG get their info whilst forgetting to mention us. I think a 5 star system is well beneath the kind of reviews we can put together.

I love what you have outlined in the opening post, Pony. BTW, just for your own sanity, I don't think you should accept revisions as long as you make it clear that the reviews are locked down by Oct. 31st, and that people's opinions may change after writing.

 

If they want their review stricken from the record, that is a different matter.

Great idea! Especially PC Gamers like me prefer to read user reviews and ratings rather than those sh*tty reviews by the so-called "media sites."

Might I suggest locking it on the 16th since Australians are getting it while the rest of us are on the 16th and some people will get early copies.

Love the idea, but maybe it would be a good to have some kind of word limit say min. 500 words and max. 1500.

 

This would make the reviews nicer to read and make it more of an art to really write a good creative review like only true fans like the good people of GTA Forums can

I dont want to over regulate the reviews, people should be able to say what they want. The only reason I have such a strict structure is so its easy for people to compare and sort through the reviews, as well as vote on them in the inevitable contest.

I think I am going to add a poll to the thread for those of you who dont want to write a full length review but still want to score the game. I added one now to show what it will be like. There isnt enough options for a score of 0 or .5 but I think its fair to say the game wont deserve such a score realistically. The current poll is for what you expect to score the game.

 

On the 17th I will reset it and the votes will count

I would enjoy writing a review of GTA V, were it not for the fact that GTA V is coming out, so I'll be too busy playing GTA V.

I'm definitely going to write a review! I doubt I'll be able to give it a 10 because no game will ever be perfect, even if we think it is now because when another game comes out it might seem better
