I believe that Rockstar makes the Guides? Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

I guess they have a deal with R* (and other game companies) to have some test players there so they can do a walkthrough.

Or R* could send them all the details.

brady is just a publisher

rockstar made it

I don't think Rockstar make the guide, they don't have time for that and Brady Games need to play the game themselves to be able to create the guide. I'm thinking a few Brady and Rockstar employees play the game together and exchange information about what needs to go into the guide. This is done months before release so that Brady gets all the information about the game that they need to be able to start putting the design and the structure of the guide together.

I honestly think Brady Guides goes to Rockstar North or wherever the game is being developed, and then they basically get the Big and the smallest spec of info, and then just slap it onto the guide. :beerhat:

Brady is a publisher

there was most likely a small team at rockstar that put it together and sent it to brady to publish it

as simple as that.

no one at Brady needs to play the game

Because Rockstar makes games, they don't make guides. Brady Games spends time at Rockstar offices to make the guides.

What? Do you think it was given to Dan Houser himself to do it? I'd expect R* (if they did indeed do the guide) to get some employees tasked with just that job.

It's probably a big job but when people employed JUST for that it's not an issue.

It is a pretty damn hard job to make a Guide if you think of it, lol. :beerhat:

You might be half right, like R* might have a small team tasked with making the guide then BradyGames just publish it

It was always my belief that they played the game themselves guess I am wrong. Nice to learn something new, shame I had had to be called a retard in the process.

Well lets face it, the game has been near completion for a good few months now. I would assume near the end development of the game not as many hands are needed on deck as it were. I would imagine that a small number of Rockstar employees are then tasked with helping representatives of Brady Games piece together a game guide.

they sent it to the top publishing company in the business (Brady)

There is a difference between a publisher and an author. The author writes it, R*, and the publisher...publishes it, Brady Games.

Wikipedia is a very weak a source of information...and you have to know what you're looking for.

How can they made the Gta Gameguide so fast

Do they get the game really early or something

From page 286 of the GTA IV Brady Guide:

Author Acknowledgements

First, I'd like to thank Rockstar Games for letting me practically live in your offices for two months.

Same goes for V I would assume.

I've seen an interview with a guy who writes strategy books and it's basically what some guys here already said. They get to play the game before it is even completed and if they have bad luck the final game differs much from the version they got to play. Maybe you noticed that in the San Andreas guide there were wrong locations for some collectibles on the maps in the book. This was because R* changed some locations after the guide was already finished.

I can't understand how people think R* will write it,people from brady get to go and play the game way before release and write the guide with help from R*.

GTAOnlineVideos

The competition for getting the licensing to be the official guide for a game like GTA V is huge. Brady pays for the rights to write and publish the guide. Game developers do not write game guides.

Does anybody remember the San Andreas guide? They wrote it off an early build they were playing and some of the stuff didn't match up with the final build so you couldn't 100% the game with the info in the guide.
