The only reason for it was for benefits/vehicles you'd unlock. In GTA:O there's just no reason for it at all.

I think it would be interesting to see other players driving around with their gfs/bfs to specific places. Other people could set up ambushes in whole new ways, even though griefing is frowned upon.

 

I just wish GTA O was a little more lively with NPC acquaintances because it feels like your character is a loner most of the time.

I can agree that the NPCs could be a bit more interactive, but honestly they're already more lively than in most other games as it is. I could see it maybe working in single player, but I don't think it'd be a high priority thing online.

Personally, when I was a teen I'd self-medicate with intoxicants because I wasn't very social unless I was drunk or stoned off my ass, but I won't recommend that to you since it can make things worse for some people.

 

Whatever you do, do what you feel is right for you. Sounds corny but a lot of people forget this.

Confidence, fake it til you make it. If you're really into something use MeetUp or something similar to meet others with the same interests and practice social skills in a comfortable setting. Take a friend with you to ease the transition and bail you out if you get overwhelmed. Like GTAname said do what you feel is right.
