ok not sure if im being thick but as we know we can all own an apartment online and invite our friends around ect but how will this work because for example if I buy an apartment for example in a certain street does that mean that the exaxt apartment I purchase their will always be mine and how will their be enough places for people to buy and will some people get left with crappy apartments I just cant understand how it might even work ? anyone spread some light

I'm pretty sure the houses will be instanced. Basically, multiple people can own the same house but once you attempt to enter the house you'll enter your own house unless you're invited by a Friend.

Okay this is a easy concept... Its called overlaying, all R* is doing is making it where people can own the same house.

 

Diagram:

Your House -> Your World

Some one has the same house -> There world

 

This is in away. Where you will be in a different world kind of speak. I might be wrong, but I'm sure this is how it will work.

I think apartments will be like apartment buildings your apartment is one apartment in the apartment building but the layouts are the same. You can just customize them diffrently

Just like it was in TDU2. Everyone bought the same place (apartments in GTA5) Then youre teleported into your place.

I'm hoping it will be more of a true real estate system where we buy and sell and maybe even build apartment buildings and homes. Paying for plots of land and building what we see fit and can afford, renting it out at a later day. It would work, they could always build more islands and balance the supply and demand.

This is one of those unanswered questions that everyone's been asking since they found out apartments were a thing in GTAO, and everybody everywhere who has seen the game firsthand, or interviewed Rockstar, and come back to answer questions have acted like this is a question no ones been asking.

 

It's sort of a big deal. People want to know.
