TheRealBars
The area around my first safehouse and first high street i find.. (all gta's have several areas with alot of stores and other POI's) Pretty much within a few hours. The entire map however will take days if not weeks. RedDagger
I highly doubt you, or anyone here knows the map from memory, what you mean is that you know certain parts very well. all the locations needed to enjoy the game the way you play it. They said what they meant, lots of people can easily go from one screenshot from IV to another, anywhere, without GPS or looking at the pause map. Remember Stevie's car thefts? It was pretty easy to get to where they were just from looking at the photo, that was the fun part for me. Using the map or GPS would'a felt like cheating. Anyhoo, SA's map seemed to be less complex than IVs, since I know the map just from doing the campaign missions, but IV took a fair bit of playing. V will obviously have lots more roads and areas, so I'd wager ~1.5 times IV, though because of the mapping Los Santos thread, some will take less time. Oneima
Really interesting points noted here.. I just realised that now that you have 3 characters to control, you will be more confused. So picture this: You are driving around as Michael in the city and you decide to change to Trevor for the first time. Trevor is in the middle of a desert and you have no idea how to get out of there because you didnt drive or fly there your self.. And to the one who said that no one here really knows IV:s map from heart or memory. I got the game on 2008 christmas, and have played it since, atleast once a week. Ok maybe couple of weeks pause sometimes but anyway. I played IV today and started to think about the map. If im on a road that turns left and right, i know where i end up if i turn left or right. But IMO IV:s map is pretty easy to navigate, its not that big. And i believe that in GTA V the city area isnt that big either.
theotherMittens
city will be tough, but blaine will be easy. i still remember the SA map better than IV, mostly because everyyhing was a little more distinct. but i do think LS itself will be harder to remember than LC because it's not seperated the same way. when everything was sectioned off and had to be unlocked you learned smaller parts at a time, then it was all easy to put together
Vormek
It will take approximately 29.3 days (not counting toilet breaks) to memorize the entire map. /thread
