Probably the most anticipated game ever with these forums going strong with speculation since 2011 when the first trailer was released all the way till now

But why whats the feature that makes Grand Theft Auto so appealing and special for you?

Even before the game was announced there was much rumors.

GTA V is so special because its compare all good things from older GTAs in once... and a huge map. And 100hours GamePlay. And a subsea world.

And a huge Online Modus.

Its a open sand box world that you can explore and do anything you want in, the possiblities are endless in game that are open world, some linear game are good but i prefer open world games

It allows me to do things that are possible in real life, but would result in death or incarceration.

That, and the replayablity of each individual game is through the roof.

It's a game I grew up with from an early age. I always was excited to go to my oldest cousin's to play Vice City then San Andreas until I got IV. You can do all kinds of stuff you can't do in reality!

Because without venting my frustrations through GTA, I would probably be in either jail or dead.

Freedom

I was going to post exactly the same. That's why it is the king of the sandboxes.

By other hand, the possibility of modding the game and giving it a customized look.

Grand Theft Auto is exactly that:

You start up the game for the first time and get sucked into a virtual world with a story. You learn more and more about the characters with every mission you play. It's just like a book. Every page you read is precious and so is every mission and every corner of the map. At first you know nothing and at the end of the game you know nearly everything.

It enables you to step into "that world". You can stay as long as you want but you also get confronted with all the problems within that world. You can leave at any time but you may think that it all still moves and goes on even when you leave the game.

Right now, I could start up GTA Vice City and it feels like before. There is the map. You know it's 1986 and you are familiar with the characters. You step outside of your safe house and there are the walking pedestrians, the cars and planes moving. The weapon pickups are just at the same coordinates. It's like the GTA world went round even without me having it started up in a long time.

Just think about it like SAMP: Right now, there are thousands of players moving in San Andreas and doing something. They stunt, they do role play, the do death match. They fill the state with life.

Only about GTA I feel that way. All other games are dull to me. They have a virtual world and pedestrians or individuals but it doesn't feel like a book where you have to read all the pages to "get it".

I don't know, there's something fun about murdering thousands of people and exploring a huge open world without all the fatigue.

Because it's like a vacation with guns. The moment you step into the world, you can do whatever you want. And the world actually reacts to you. Unless your playing IV, in which case you might as well be invisible until you bump a pedestrian.
