Seems like boats will be the best way to get around

Since the map is one large island, with the most populous areas being close to the coastline, boats and jetskis will most likely be the most efficient method of travel when you need to get somewhere fast.

I'm happy about this. Can't wait to own my own personal vessel and go tearing around the ocean. I will become intimately familiar with all of the docks and ports in Los Santos.

Anybody agree or have a different take?

Keep in mind it will be a lot easier to obtain a boat than a f*cking helicopter. If you need to rip over to LS airport from Blaine County, boat is the way to go.

I think aircraft will be easiest way to get around. head to the nearest airport, grab a plane, and ditch it near anough to where you want to get to.

I will be using all forms of transportation. Driving will likely be the most used method for me but certainly will use watercraft, aircraft, trains & whatever else we have at our disposal. Hopefully we can buy a property with a garage, airstrip, dock & helipad.

It really depends on where you're going though, but I believe it's easier to just drive or fly around the whole map.

Cheat codes. :sly:

Even though I wont use them. :beerhat:

Hmm. Good luck getting to Sandy Shores with a boat. If a helicopter or a plane is too hard to get a car beats a boat. There are a whole lot of villages on the map that are out off reach for a boat or a boat is simply going to take a lot longer than a car to get anywhere quickly.

Driving will most likely be the least inconvenient means of travel, where as flying will be the fastest.

Well, lets say I'm in Del Pierro and I need to get to Sandy Shores. Seems to me like hopping in a boat and moving north up the coastline will get me there quicker than fighting through LS traffic. That's assuming I don't have a plane and won't be using cheats, which I never do.

You would have thought using the boats more in previous GTA's was better because their was multiple islands, But i hardly ever found myself using boats, So with one big island why would i start using them? apart from the odd dive of course

The only problem is a boat can't get you to the doorstep, you might be able to get to the same town as the other person but you have to find alternate transport to get to their house.

I'm not sure why that makes boats the best way. Helis and planes are faster.

Not to mention a main highway takes you right around the edge of the map so cars are a great way too.

Jetskis will be fun though!

Ok, well I at least think boats will be a lot of fun. Can't wait to have a high speed boat chase while firing an automatic at my pursuers.

Boating is an inconvenient and slow method of travel. You'll travel much faster by land or air.

Nah, if I'm in a speedboat I'll get from one end of the map to the other way before you make it in a car. Planes are another story, but again, it's not like planes are gonna be easy to come by.

The problem i see with boats is...well waves slow you down. I noticed on GTA IV while doing the triathlons that at night the waves were a bit too rough. So id have to say car to get about at 1st them plane.

You should research speeds for "speed boats."

I think you are forgetting LS isn't a hollow ring, there is inland too you know.... a car is a lot faster than a boat.

Nah...helicopters, especially since controls are same the same as IV's.

Well GTAIV never had crosswinds and such, so the controls might be the same but the handling is different making it entirely different.
