How Does Social Club Crew Online Connection Work ?

Does anyone know how GTA online will connect us to our social club crew? All I see online is that it connects us to our friends list first then team with similar stats next. How does the crew on social club relate to this? Do we have to friend everyone on our social club crew to be paired with them online or does it automatically pair up crew members?

In max payne 3 you had a crew list where it would show players in your crew that were online. From here you could easily select them and invite them to your game. Once you invited them to the lobby and the game starts the game will pair all of your crew members in the lobby onto one team if the numbers allow.

 

If you didn't invite your crew members, you would occasionally wind up in games with them randomly, but the game didn't seem to try to hook you up with crew members in matchmaking. Which I personally liked because sometimes you want to play with people other than your active crew.
