I f*cking hope it's more than 100.. It's got to last me til gta 6 D: and with Rockstar pulling out all the stops on this one I'd have expected them to extend the game (besides the map) a lot more :3.

He says 100 hours of total gameplay, which means missions and side activities, he doesn't say hundreds. This concerns me as I know we have GTA online, but I was really hoping GTA V Single Player content would last me a lot longer then just 100 hours. That really isn't a long time, I have put over 400 hours into Skyrim and I STILL haven't seen everything there is to do in that game.

What do you guys think?

I think you need to learn what the definition of sandbox game means and gtfo-1.jpg

This is absolutely retarded, it's like some of you have never played a GTA game before. Even if story missions and side quests in single player take 100 hours (Which is a sh*t ton of time, unless you do absolutely nothing with your life outside of playing vidya gamez), the replay value of the game will be on par with every other GTA if not more so. Dynamic missions, replayable missions, exploration, customization and those are just four things things, that simply make it a game that someone can (if they have nothing better to do and have the desire to) sink way more than 100 hours into.

Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas had 100 hours of gameplay and I played them for about 250 hours each. It just depends on how you play.

Grand Theft Savage

I 100%'d RDR in about 83 hours. GTA V has more missions, which I will be taking my time with. It'll last me a long while. Over 2 weeks.

>complaining about a game having 100 hours of gameplay

Friend, count your blessings. Most games these days have at most six to ten hours of single player gameplay, and that's if they even have a single player component at all anymore.

Are you really moaning about 100 hours of gameplay, and dont ever compare this game to skyrim because skyrim is a completely different kettle of fish altogether. 100 hours of gameplay of missions not activites, because you will probably play more than one race. plus you will probably attack cops and if you are good you can probably survive a whole hour of that.

Don't know about you dude but some of us have lives to get on with, 100 hours is way more than enough. :p

I never finish the story in a short amount of time. I seriously took my time, I finished IV like 2-3 months after getting the game and replayed the story countless times. This game will literally, and i mean literally will last me 5-10 years easily.

The singleplayer is as long as you want it to be. There's probably 100 hours of fixed content that the game wants you to do to get 100% completion, but honestly I'll be spending more time exploring and blowing up the state, running from cops and basically creating mayhem on the fly.

So you shouldn't worry about SP. I'm just glad that DLCs will be multiplayer orientated not SP, which means the SP version in GTA V is complete. None of that let's cut content here and make consumers pay extra to unlock this BS.

This, what part of the "open-world" genre do you guys not understand, beyond those 100hours of mission content, is infinite hours of your own idea of fun things.

Im really disappointed in what i'm seeing people are acting like this game is a corridor shooter and forgetting GTA is open world!

Yea it's just the younger crowd that don't understand an open world game. If someone says 100 hours they think it means the game gets ejected and destroyed. It's the same crowd that says the map is small. As I have stated million times, an open world game does not end. I put over 400 hours into other open world games, and still going. It's also the same crowd that will rush all the missions in four days to say they finished it and then will be upset that the story is over.

With work and family life among other things I'll be lucky if I get to play GTA V for more than 4 hours a week. 100 hours of single player not to mention online is gonna keep me busy for months, if not years!

You will certainly get more than 100 hours out of this game. I put over 1000 into Skyrim and was still finding and doing stuff that I hadn't previously. You'll be fine.

I have to admit that I didnt complete every single *challenge* in "IV" but it held enough fun & gameplay regardless. My personal objective in gaming is not to make sure I complete everything in a certain amount of time but to simply do whatever is fun to me @ the time. If I want to snatch cars for somebody or hunt down "flying rats" or do a mission or just walk around the city listening to peds talk or get into fights w/ 'em, then I'll do that.

He said in the article "We've got this big open-world experience that's 100 hours long, and that gives players control over what they do, what they see, and how they see it."

I cant say how long I'll play but I/we do have other responsibilities, you have school/work/family extracurricular activities, chores etc and despite what we say, we do need to sleep @ some point! :D Even if you played 5hrs a day, still an estimated 20 days and then you have MP. I think it'll be good! And I just *know* its coming to PC @ some point and if R* stays cool like they have before, there will be LOTS of modding and therefore more replay value.

ofcourse thats not all, its GTA dude. Thats just the storyline plus the mayor side missions. GTA V can be played until infinity and you won't get bored of it. And then theres the ever evolving GTA Online....

The game will take as long to complete as you want to. 100 hours is just an estimation, and will probably not take into account the side missions and activites, which is a LOT of hours. You should be happy!

Hell, I'll be spending at least 100 hours just driving around on the highway listening to the radio!

So, you will happily dish out sixty bucks for games that last 10-12 hours but get disappointed that GTAV "only" has around a hundred hours of gameplay?

GTA Master 007

Lol 100 hours just for missions, side missions, activities etc, is not less. I have completed gta san andreas 100% in about 50 hours, but I have over 800+ hours playing time and that's just 1 of my many profiles. You will end up spending 1000's of hours just f*cking around because that's what gta games are all about.

I don't know why people are predicting how many hours you can do with a game. Seriously.

It's not like a movie or show that has a "running time"

It's a game. It's a f*cking game. You can spend all your life playing it. No one is telling you what to do with it. You bought it, you do whatever you can with it.

For 2 Weeks? Good enough, I guess.

After the 2 weeks, we'll have GTA Online and that'll have over 700 Missions! :D

Guys, seriously. Was gameplay time ever an issue with a GTA game? We all know we'll spend hundreds of hours with this game, and still find new sh*t to have fun with.

I just saw this topic also where Daviedv was nice enough to post

http://gtaforums.com/topic/584000-sam-houser-interview-with-the-sunday-times/

You will read in it where the interviewer tells us (and I was expecting this) "Houser is 'famously not good', he says, at letting go once the project is near release, but he reveals that, for the first time, Rockstar will continue to develop updates to GTA V after it is out."

So I'd say we're talking about improvements/DLC for maybe new missions etc.
