As you might know GTA IV made it into the Guinness World Records as the "Most Successful Entertainment Product Launch", since then Call Of Duty has taken over with every new installment. But as we all know GTAV is the most hyped game since ages! Almost everyone is excited for this game! Will GTAV brake the record???

A lot of people outside of these forums (including some of my ignorant friends as well...) think that V is nothing more, than just an improvement of IV, more like what IV should have been from the start, but not happened...Watch Dogs has much bigger chances, but that doesn't mean V is worse game, just like it doesn't mean that IV is the best game, because it broke world record! LOL

i dont know about guinness records but it will def impact pop culture

they're streaming the game live on MTV on launch date..so its gonna be a bigger deal than its predecessors

I told you why, because they're ignorant and only judge book by its cover...But anyway V is going to be groundbreaking game no kidding you, just not so groundbreaking to break records...We'll have to wait and see...

And CoD: Ghosts is an improvement over CoD: Black Ops II how? This is a comparison between CoD and GTA V, not Watch_Dogs. If you think Watch_Dogs, a new IP untested in the market, will beat GTA V in sales, you need to sit down by yourself for a couple hours and think about your life that has led up to this moment.

They come out with a new COD every year. This is the first proper GTA game in five years (EFLC was more of an expansion pack). I'll be extremely surprised if Ghosts beats it.

Not a single friend of mine knows Watch Dogs :lol:. Yeah it may sound weird or not, but I was talking to them probably a month ago about W_D and they didn't know what it was. I'm sure that GTA V will break records, the hype is to big.

GTA V should break the record, since it is a highly anticipated game. If Cod ghosts beats GTA V, I will be disappointed.

They will all see in due time, every new installment of gta destroys. They just don't know it yet. Even iv at the time technologically.

...Well...my point is that we're GTA online fans are minority of the society, there're masses and there're core fans! Masses are casuals, who have their daily schedules and rather spend their time outside of the internet and only sometimes visit sites and such and these kind of people are MAJORITY and they don't know what GTAV really is and when they go into the shop and buy it, its easy to convince them that this game is like GTAIV, only better, because they lack basic knowledge about it and only make thier assumptions based of what seller tells them! Its like that that - "In this game you can steal cars, blow up things and such..." and customer is like "oh, that sounds great but i've played these kind of games before...what else could you suggest?"...and guess what seller suggest next? thats right - Watch Dogs and he'll say things like "In this game you can hack things and pretty much anything in this game, which hasn't been possible in any open world game before it..." and customer would be like "oh great, now that seems plausible! I will take it!" Believe me most people are like that...

The point is: more people know about GTA V than Watch_Dogs. Once again, THINK about what you are saying.

I see a lot of people talking more about Watch Dogs and how it will be better than GTAV and that GTAV is the same old repetitive crap, then i hear otherwise! So its not like i picked it from my head, its my own observations and gathered experience...

I wouldn't be so sure about that. Many mates of mine who are only casual gamers have not heard of Watch Dogs, but are well aware of GTA V and how amazing it looks. They see it, not as some small improvement over GTA IV, but as a nostalgic trip back to San Andreas.

 

Other friends of mine who were at first reluctant of GTA V (e.g. looks repetitive) changed their minds after seeing the gameplay trailer and now can't wait for the game.

I don't know how much a of reference this is, but here in Belgium the nr 1 game store confirmed this is by far the most pre-ordered game they've ever seen.
