alb-mac
Couldn't find this in the mapping thread. Not sure if these 2 cliffs are the same one from different angles and if they are, if the images are mirrored. Otherwise, does it mean there are 2 lakes? Since in plane pic, that's Chiliad to the north, then to the west is the picture on top...or maybe the lake is that wide...has this been mapped?? alb-mac
They don't look the same.. I also don't see the point in knowing... Would "mean" there are 2 bodies of water inside the map...contrary to what other maps show....from what I know
LSSDLSPD
You should bring your evidence to the Mapping thread.

Would "mean" there are 2 bodies of water inside the map...contrary to what other maps show....from what I know I fail to see how ONE cliff decides that. Way too many factors to go into that to be decided on a single cliff that may or may not be the same.
Pizentu
Look to the right of your blue circle in the Top picture. There is another cliff and that is the cliff that is most likely the same as the one circled in the bottom picture.

alb-mac
There was another thread like this except it was confirming that these two cliffs were in fact the same place... Does that mean that in the top picture that I posted, it is Mt Chiliad? If so, why are there mountains behind it if it's supposed to be the most northern part of the map

Does that mean that in the top picture that I posted, it is Mt Chiliad? If so, why are there mountains behind it if it's supposed to be the most northern part of the map The top picture shows Mt. Josiah, the one below Mt. Chiliad. And Chiliad *is* the northernmost mountain on the map. But the IGN quote (roughly "looking across the Alamo Sea, and behind Mt. Chiliad another mountain pops in") is totally consistent with standing on the southwestern edge of the sea, and seeing the smaller mountain in the far northeast, mostly behind Mt. Chiliad. Check the map posted above. Edited September 8, 2013 by lxr

These fan maps represent nearly 2 years of constant work and deductive reasoning. It may not be 100% accurate, but it's pretty close, and you'll see that come September 17th when the official map is known.
