Firstly watch this.

This is CONFIRMED news. Moreover i feel 70 is just a minimum of medals you need to collect for the trophy. Or there are 70 KEY missions worthy of medals. Since the achievement clearly mentions "And strangers and freaks." That being said, i'm more than satisfied with 100 hours of single player. I don't see ANY reason to be disappointed. Even though i love CVG, i have more faith in Rockstar. Out here, let me know what you think will be in the game.

I just voted for what I want 100+ hours and more missions. But I feel that with GTAO we are going to get way more than 100 hours, I mean its practically a game all on its own and Ive heard somewhere over 500 missions are going to be avaliable to us if not at launch then over a period of time.

100 hours of gameplay is immense! Especially if it's indeed 'just' 70 missions over six major heists.

 

People complained (and rightfully so in most cases) that IV's missions were too simple, and too similar. We can guarantee ourselves that missions will have more action, more objectives and take longer to complete.

 

Also, completely OT but this is my first post since the website has been through this amazing overhaul! Wow! What a difference!

I can bet my CE, that 70 medals DOES NOT INCLUDE MAIN MISSIONS, so what I think is - We will earn medals just for side tasks and stranger missions.

 

I don't think that It would be immersive to get a medal, for some big mission with three characters, money should be price - not some medal. Think about it.

a GTA is up to how you play it you could be in the game for like a 300 hours if you wanted to exploring and just seeing the world and then add online play and it just as infinite number of play time but thats up to you the player to decide to do in the game.

Just cause some fa**ot nerd on the internet said that there will be 70 missions doesnt mean he knows anything.

Where was it confirmed in that video it was 70 missions? They guy was speculating the 100 hours was divided between 30 hours of main mission and 70 hours of side missions. You must be confused with what IGN said about the number of missions in GTA4.

we dont even how complex the missions are...if mission have parts and chekpoints. 70 mission can be more than enough if you count all the activites and side quests.

Some sources only say 70 missions because

an achievement said you need 70 gold medals from missions

, but that doesn't mean that's all the missions in the game.

CVG dont know if there is 70 missions. No one knows the mission count. IGN yesterday speculated and mentioned GTA IV had 70 missions: They also said that missions are broken down in building up to 4 or more big heists. so each heist is the end or beginning of a new chapter.

What I don't get is why people don't seem to remember that Rockstar said the main story would take about as long as RDR did. People were happy. Now when they hear that there's going to be 70 missions which is 13 more than RDR. RDR felt long. People don't wanna believe there's 70 missions and because they want this to be over hyper perfect. People wanna have 30 more repetitive missions than 70 unique and good missions even though there will be more missions in multiplayer. Plus there's going to be side missions and activities to do which is a big part of GTA but no. It seems that people don't give a sh*t about side activities. I assume they don't have time for that. I usually finish the side activities and side missions nowadays before completing the main stoy.

I believe CVG. Yall wanna know why? Because their speculations has been right most of the time unlike 99% of this forum users over analysing bullsh*t. Plus they have given heads up on upcoming info for V.

 

Edit. I voted on every answer on this poll because I don't know what the f*ck OP is saying and it seems to be a new feature.

missions only take up a portion of my GTA gameplay. the rest is speeding through the city, exploring, cop shootouts, etc. not to mention multiplayer :D

100 hours would be about 90-100 missions.

Come on now, don't tell me you prefer the long missions of GTA San Andreas or GTA IV that I never really get to play the side missions or activities such as watching television etc until recently. Seriously, Rockstar is just going back to how long GTA Vice City was together with the awesome side missions-style from GTA San Andreas.

Well i'm a bit worried (not about this 70 missions rumor...), but because of 100 hours of gameplay, because if it includes everything including every single side mission, activity and mini-game then it is not too much! I Take Skyrim for example, the game has approximately 300 hours of gameplay and it is much more empty!! With so much stuff to do and side missions to complete the game needs around 200 hours to make it justice! We'll have to wait and see, but right now i;'m not that impressed to be honest...
