Retailers will not dispatch before 16th Sept?

I just received an email off game telling me my order will be charged earlier then expect to make sure I receive it on release day but they go on to say they R* has asked every UK outlet not to dispatch the game before the 16th

 

I can't post a screenshot without having personal details inside of it and I am on a crappy mobile device but here's a copy and paste of what is exactly said

 

"GTA V is released on 17th September and Rockstar, who publish it, have worked very hard to make it the

biggest gaming launch ever. They have requested that no UK retailer despatch GTA V before the 16th September

and GAME, along with all reputable retailers, will respect this request."

Well there will be a lot of disappointed people if it doesn't turn up on the 17th. Rockstar is to blame if that is the case. Dispatching a day before release is just ridiculous, far too little time.

No big surprise. Most big releases are like this nowadays. Call of Duty has been like this since it became popular when Modern Warfare was released. Luckily I've pre-ordered from an online outlet the past few years and it's always showed up a day early, including GTA: IV and the latest Call of Duty's. We'll see if it does this time.

 

Don't see what people are disappointed about - you'll still get the game for release day. Can pretty much be sure of that.

Got the e-mail too, good thing is they're using DPD, I assure you this company is very reliable when it comes to next day deliveries.

There is no way Royal Mail is going to able to do next day delivery for first class. People who live in rural areas would get it about the 18th if they are lucky. Considering they are releasing early week, it's a pretty bad move that they won't even let them post it on the Saturday for a better chance, since no one gets mail on Sunday

I'm gonna go in Game tomorrow to see whether I can get my pre-order delivered to the store so I can pick it up at midnight. Don't really mind paying for it up front.
