Then, maybe we can hire some amateur voice actors that have experience if there is gonna be voice acting. Like, we could have for example: DragonNOR (known for the voice of Simon from Cry of Fear). So, if there is gonna be voice acting, we could at least have actors with experience. (if anyone want my recommendations, DM me)

Good question, but its up to BEGINit or Speccy.

Tbh its not hard to find amateur some what okay voice actors, there's some on reddit, I know some voice actors that were on there, and there's a whole bunch of forums too. But if voice acting isn't implemented I feel like that's going to be a big let down, BTW UGs radio "hosts" obviously weren't planned right, and dkluin was just like "yeah here read this, and then send it to me when you're done." With proper rehearsal and actual time being put into the acting (because it's literally acting, no difference, except for audio only.) Shine O' Vice can have some kick ass voice acting.

You're forgetting that VC is older than some of the people posting in this topic - no matter how much you want to believe that, interest is not going to grow over time, rather the opposite. Time is of the essence.

Definitely not enough shine for Shine O' Vice. This interior is a common setting for missions so I had to project the SoV mood onto it.

An important change is the removal of the "interior teleport". Now, both the exterior and interior are always loaded. We are running short on time for the beta so all interior teleports from the Vanilla game are temporarily disabled. Nonetheless, this isn't a great tragedy since all interiors that do appear in the mod are uniformly accessible from the street. It took some time to achieve this because I really didn't want have the teleport in some cases and in others, not. It was a mess. Now that I mention that, I should say that there will be exceptions such as the Vercetti Estate and North Point Mall.

In other news...


Something on my mind for a while now has been this "palm tree jungle" around the biker bar in the Downtown area (this was something in the mod, not the Vanilla game). There were many duplicated trees so I went ahead and placed a single merged vegetation model to cover that stretch of grass. Feels as though it was more for the sake of optimization, but it turned out to be a worthwhile improvement overall.

Also, the collision for Phil's new lot has been added and I'm very happy with the results. I'm going to add Kalvin's Beta Diaz Mansion (Vercetti Estate in SoV) to the build next. Considering that I've also had to spend more time on editing the night version of the updated Malibu Club exterior, a lot of progress has been made this week. The Malibu Club is finally out of the way now and there's not much more left for me to do. I keep saying I'll upload and making delays but I can tell you, it's worth the wait. Amazing to drive down the streets and observe how the game has transformed. The fact that it is actually possible to get across town, even play through the missions mostly crashe-free, is a huge accomplishment... Truly takes me back to the Golden days of GTA modding :)

Wow, I can't believe this. SoV is finally approaching a release status, no matter if is a beta but after ages of been on work will worth the effort put on this. Thumbs up Speccy!

Brief summary of what's been accomplished since the last update:

Worked together with Kalvin to port an updated radar & map to the build, then proceeded to edit HUD design.

I'm glad to announce that the door animation issue has finally been resolved thanks to Surya926, who provided the necessary memory addresses. It's a simple fix but it's the little things that count.

The rest of my time working on the mod was spent on perfecting my "outfits system" taylored for SoV. In the previous builds, buying clothes worked pretty well but it wasn't tied to any kind of wardrobe system... Seems natural to purchase outfits at the store and then be able to choose between them at the safehouse... When I initially coded the purchasing system, I thought "I'll deal with that part later" but then figured I wouldn't want the Beta with a half-assed clothes mechanic. Now that it's all done, wish I could show a nice demonstration, but for whatever reason, the video processed terribly. Just because of the new HUD, I'll share it anyway. Prepare for some 2007-upload-style visuals.

Work flawlessly congratulations, better than the original game well I guess, think of something for praw island? for example the mansion mendez in vcs was perfect also or system of gangs or vercetti will dominate everything in that period? Sorry for english, brazil portugal missed the way and it came to stop here xD.

With this new style and all.. This isnt gta anymore the Feeling which frosted Winter had... For example is kind of ruined in my honest opinion

There’s a three-floor interior for the Mendez Mansion but we don’t currently have plans to add anything else to Prawn Island. I do agree though, more could be done for that area.

I hope you guys are not trying to go for an ultra HD look. Flint's new model look a bit HD. or is it my eyes? are you just trying to go for a GTA Vice City Stories style?

That gameplay clip has got me very excited! 😊 Looks fantastic. The HUD looks very slick and the weather cycle too. 

Is it just me or does the draw distance look highly improved? Very nice work guys. 🙌
