The latest mission I've been working on is called "Multiplayer". A character is remotely operating a drone while Flint simultenously takes control of a full-size RC car. Flint's view of the vehicle comes from a video transmission by the drone. Testing the performance of the modified RC car, he must therefore remain at a visible distance. Flint must also clear checkpoints at high speeds and accumulate points. There is a points total that must be obtained to succeed in the test. Note that the lag effect is intentional!

Some info regarding the BETA release:
 

MISSIONS: The one aspect of the BETA that I can promise will be close to perfection.


CARS: There will be a wide variety of new cars but not all planned vehicles will spawn on the streets. Many existing cars will be improved post-release as well.


MAP: Many new areas will be accessible. However, some interiors may be temporarily locked off.


FEATURES: Unfortunately, this is where many of sacrifices are needed for the sake of a prompt BETA release. Features refer to: clothes purchasing, interior teleports, car customization, shares system, drug dealing, and the ability to save game - all of the aforementioned might be missing/broken in the BETA release.

Nice. That mission is probably gonna be like the Speedtrap races in Need for Speed: Most Wanted and Need for Speed: Carbon.

Many missions are indeed a pain in the ass. This has definitely made development quite challenging but at least BEGINit and I were on the same page regarding mission difficulty.

I was hoping we would be able to release a Beta this summer. Didn't quite meet that target...It all depends on how much longer it takes me to finish the 6 remaining missions. I can assure everyone that I'm doing my best to make that happen fast. I am coding full-time and am currently adding the finishing touches to that mission I've shared with you.

Nothing wrong with that, it only means more playing hours. Also every GTA had "that kind" of missions.

I am looking forward to the beta! I am a sucker for lore-friendly vehicles, so this would be right up my alley! Story-wise, I don't care, but great job, it looks quite juicy, so I might start playing it when the full mod releases.

Why not just use the Florida state plate from back then? Afterall Vice City IS in Florida and not some made up state.

I'm really glad to see where this goes. Speccy and others are doing an outstanding job. Can't wait to get my hands on the beta. I hope  I'll be able to help with scripting in my little spare time soon :)

The Beta is underway.

 

I have finished coding missions and am now almost ready to upload a full, updated, and (more or less) stable build of the mod for BEGINit to test. Took some time to achieve compatibility between the script and the build that had the most complete and least bugged map. Will keep you guys updated on our progress once I'm ready to make this crucial step.

I've also been busy updating and improving cars. Here's some of that:

Daitojo's Pheonix SE had bugged doors so I decided to implement quite a radical change. It now looks pretty cool and unique, in my opinion.

Amazing car progress! Johnny's Phoenix still looks the bomb! Are the cars going to recieve vanilla VC plates or the new Florida ones I made?

BEGINit and I have agreed on a fixed date when I will upload the updated build for him to test. That'll be this Sunday morning. However, I expect that we'll need another week or so to exchange thoughts on the current state of the mod and make adjustments where neccesary. Derrick and I talked about the license plates on Discord but for anyone else who's wondering, we will try to implement them in the second beta due to the high workload for the upcoming release.

 

More on cars...

 

We should be recieving some more cars from Leonazix soon, as he's been working on some very nice models lately. Same goes for -Anti- and his great work. I'm making various updates and changes to cars currently in the mod on the side. A youtube video of the entire assortment of new vehicles is very likely to appear soon :)

 

Because we have enabled many special cars to spawn in normal traffic (Bloodring Bangers, Hotring Racers, Sabre Turbo, Deluxo, etc...) and set others like the Bulldozer and BF Injection to "ignore" (they don't spawn in traffic anymore, only at special locations), we have an extra 5-6 slots for sports cars now! Most of the special cars are renamed so you'd never know it was originally a Lovefist limo or something of the likes.

 

Would great if you guys could reach out to someone like Crack Yo' Neck and motivate him to make something awesome for VC and potentially our mod.
