Instead of just being impatient, take it as a good thing - while BEGINit's gone, there's no need to rush progress, so improvements and such can still be worked on without it being done hastily.

Do you guys have a plan B if BEGINit won't show up in September? It would be a shame if this mod won't be released or will be released without any scripted stuff to immerse the player. I think some basic stuff may do the trick, for example, new hidden packages, easter eggs or maybe even a few simple missions.

Hidden packages and everything else is part of the script. The mod won't be released without Beginit's permission. I'm not planning on releasing any content I've contributed for this mod unless it dies and gets buried pretty deep either.

That's the solid opinion. It's up to you what to do with your content and I'm up for anything that team decides.

 

I hope it will be released before everyone will stop playing videogames at all. I remember first seeing this thread in summer 2013, and I was bound by the screenshots and by the words "it's almost done". Well the years start coming and they don't stop coming, people are getting employed, married, making a kids, divorced, and the good old GTA doesn't mean anything to them anymore. Nobody

I check up on this thread every day, eagerly awaiting any news on BEGINit's whereabouts. I've been busy as ever these days but always ready to dedicate myself to the mod again. It is very depressing, our current sitaution.

Kalvin or someone will probably say "well we still need to work on the oil rig, so stfu hardy har" but i could give less than a sh*t, because id rather wait for a prop in the game than wait for the owner of the mod to show that hes even alive...

 

This is beyond ridiculous and really a waste of everyones time....

The thing is nobody wants to break their promises to BEGINit and give away all the materials. It's understandable and it's the right thing. The oil rig problem may seem strange to you, but I'd never say things such as "I could give less than a sh*t" about someone else's monthes of hard work. How do you think, why would Kalvin do some meaningless prop for all this time? This rig is surely important, and even if it's not, it probably won't cause any delays. The only thing that bugs me is the red words on the first page, which bounded me to this thread for a 4 years, and the main guy's silence. The global mods such as Lost Alpha or Project Brazil was developed in many years, but there was the updates or just the developer's words. Considering the "almost done" factor, the mod created the annoying bug in people's heads, causing them to check the updates to see, how almost it's done, and this bug lives in our heads for a few years. I understand if you won't release the unfinished project, but right now it's going straight to oblivion, and this is a waste. The mod will be released someday anyway, and one of the possible situations is BEGINit stopped the work in some way. So plan B should be a thing to think of, I guess.

But ya, the waiting is ridiculous. Like I said a few pages ago, even if Beginit really is bogged down with everything life, there's nothing stopping him from taking a minute out of his day just to come here and say he's not working on it anymore or anything like that. It would be sh*tty to cancel it, but at least it's courteous to give us forewarning as opposed to keeping us in the dark.

 

As far as the assets and sh*t that were made for the mod given that it's pretty much dead at this point until Beginit comes back or says otherwise, I think it should be up to whoever made it to do what they want to do with it. If the people who made cars/buildings/scripts/peds/whatever for the mod wanna release them by themselves, they should be able to so everyone can install and enjoy them. Like cpt.rookie above me said, it's sh*tty to break a promise and I understand that, but also something to understand is that he probably won't be back so keeping them locked away is redundant.

Of course, im not saying his work towards the prop is meaning-less, i just think he shouldn't use the oil rig as a cover for BEGINIt's absence. Having a kid doesn't make you have no time during your day....

 

If someone can go ahead on facebook and update their status when they have kids, there is no difference for BEGINIt....

Nobody is using the oil rig as cover. We stopped working on it a while ago. Kalvin's working on a hotel, and I'm working on a cinema/possibly street block in Little Havana.

 

Also if he has small kids, then he should not have time for other stuff. Parenthood is much more important to any person. If I had to guess, he hasn't come back yet because he doesn't want to pop up, say ''hi guys i'm alive lol'' and do nothing again. If I were him, I'd only come back and announce so if it was to do something. He probably can't right now. Just guessing.

The entire team is unaware of the state of the mod. All of us had contributed hard work and effort into the mod, and were all under constant pressure because we know people are expecting the project to be finished.

Did beginit make everyone working on this sign a contract or something saying HEY DONT RELEASE sh*t EVEN IF I LEAVE FOREVER? I think it should be up to the creators to decide whether or not they should release the stuff they made for it. If you wanna release the X you made because the odds of this mod being finished at this point are nil to slim, then sure. If you don't release X because you still think that despite all the signs saying otherwise that Beginit will suddenly come back and begin working, that's a bit silly and a waste of all the hard work just to go into something that'll never see the light of day but there's nothing I can do about it since its your work.

Most of my post's consistency is a argued suggestion for the team without the insistence. Go tell your mom or dad to "knock it off", but not the unfamilliar man on the forums. With all the respect for your work, your way of conversation is ill-mannered and insolent.

 

And for your other words - the reason of deluding with expectations is the "almost done" factor, which wasn't invented by me. And you don't know what's "in my head" - the post is just the argued suggestion, not the demanding. The fact that you did a lot of work doesn't give you the ultimate right to act butch. You did it, so what, it's just your business and no one's else, since the release is not happening. Or was it the Shrek reference to piss you off?

Yes Parenthood is important, but trust me, kids do not take every minute of your day. Just like how a man works, and a wife cooks and cleans, when the baby is born. Going on a computer ( OR EVEN YOUR PHONE ) can take about 4 minutes out of your day to say "hi i'm alive".

 

Yeah, you might not like it to show that he's alive and that he'll disappear again, but more importantly, he'll explain his absence...

 

Anyways, the team members know more than me, and if they want to go ahead and finish everything while we still need to wait for BEGINIt until September thats fine.

I'm literally not making any exaggerations, that's all I see them do, so using the argument "HE'S A PARENT HE HAS ZERO TIME TO GO ONLINE" really makes no sense. Not unless he happened to have 16 kids all at once like those people on the TLC channel. At this point and with all this stalling, I've accepted the fact one of the four happened:

 

A) Beginit is dead

B) Beginit is in prison

C) Beginit has16 kids that need constant attention 24/7 or else they'll all melt into nuclear waste

D) Lithuania has been covered by a giant dome that cuts off all contact with the outside world

 

I used to believe that he was going to pop back up but after all this time of being gone with no word, I think I've waken up and smelled the coffee.

Talking some sense into this though: the way I see it, no one that contributed to the mod wants to release anything until BEGINit's return. I, myself, believe he's as good as gone at this point... some others, however, still hope he'll return.

That's the thing though, Speccy is just as clueless about BEGINit's whereabouts so I don't think he'd be the one to make that call. Speccy is just another contributer, like some of us, except he made a f*ckton of things and made this mod what it is today.

 

What if BEGINit doesn't come back? WHO is gonna officially kill the mod? Or worse: what if he comes back after that decision is even made by us to see a dead project that he himself didn't even end? And to answer that question, and I say this to both the contributers and fellow followers: I absolutely understand your positions. Though I think no one is right on this matter. What Speccy said earlier is right, this thread is going through some really rough sh*t right now, and I think the best option would be to simply leave it alone and let time and fate decide what happens, unless someone decides to show progress on any contribution... and that's a different case. But if you wanna keep bragging about this matter, be wise and just don't comment on it.
