...that WIP oil rig that Johnny has been working on. If anyone would like to volunteer to complete it, please contact me because it's quite an important location for the story...

What all else has to be done for it? Maybe I could finish it or help in some capacity.

Lovely stuff, but it looks a bit strange with a missing window, maybe have a breakable piece.

Would you guys be willing to open this up to multiplayer?

I am not going to speak for the team but in my opinion its much better to focus on SP, mp is too much work and not many people would play it so its not worth the effort.

I used to love VC-MP back in the day. I know how to code in pawn language and hosted a server of my own. I don't have any experience with MTA.

 

If eventually many of you guys will be playing the mod and VC-MP still exists (haven't checked on it in ages), I could easily (with BEGINit's permission) set up a server with some pretty cool features and game modes. We'd have to see when we get to that stage, after release and all, but it is possible if there's interest.

VC:MP got some serious updates meanwhile. :)

It kinda supports now a full conversion of a map. (+ vehicles / skins / weapons / etc)

(Liberty Unleashed team actually converted the whole gta3 map - with all the 2dfx lights and everything)

 

Plus, there are plenty of new features that will surprise you.

The only bad thing in this picture is this old var wreck. Can it be changed upaded? Sterring wheel and breakable windscreen would be very nice.

Well people I am sorry to let you down but I've decided to retire from modding as well.

I've been too busy with real life working and studying.

I hope all of you can respect my decision because in the end. Real life is what matters.

It's been great working together with Speccy on this mod so I'm thanking you for that buddy!

And thanks for all of those who've supported me and enjoyed my work!

As for this mod I hope it gets finished soon so you guys will be able to enjoy it to the fullest!

Unfortunately school is 95% of our (students) life. I tried to learn some modelling to help the mod but there's no time. I really really understand Daitojo and Speccy but like he said: Life is what matters.

Sorry for the off-topic but this word are stuck in my head since Speccy's decision.

After such a long time in development, there are no excuses. I cannot wait to get the weight off my shoulders when the remaining files get uploaded to Dropbox. Three collisions left and it'll be that time.

 

edit: I have yet to talk to Phil on the subject of taking over that oil rig.

I can look at it and see if I can do something with it but no promises, especially since the other guy you mentioned that was working on the oil rig seems to have quit and getting building models ingame is beyond me.

Well that is unfortunate as there's not much work left to do on the model itself but rather on things such as prelighting, collision and rigging. Any chance Frank could pick it up, perhaps?

 

I am finished with my tasks now and am aiming to upload tonight/tomorrow for BEGINit and the team.

 

@team - there are many files so I would appreciate if you report any bugs back to me in case I forgot something.

10 map additions/improvements are now available on Dropbox for the team. I hope this takes us another step closer to release.

 

Still no oil rig, though. If anyone has experience with map modeling for Vice City and would like to continue working on an existing model, please contact me or Daitojo97 for the files.

Later on this month I'll model a new 80s lightbar for Speccy's cop car but in the meantime take a look at the new steelies! Also these wheels are included in the dropbox version.

Folks I've revisited my Phoenix and decided to make some changes and I'm planning to make it even better!

The hood without the scoops looks clean.

 

Having seen both versions, I can say that you've made very good improvements so far. In particular, I like the tinted windows, even though they are needed for practical reasons and not cosmetic.

 

Along with FacFerC's Dominator, these cars will look great on the streets of VC.

I come with more good news :)

 

Kalvin offered to pick up that unfinished oil rig. We're definitely in for a treat! This reminds me that we have yet to add his amazing Vercetti mansion to the mod.

 

Work has also begun on SFX, in particular, new engine sounds.

 

Car Pack 5 seems like it's on its way, too. I've now got access to files from Leonazix and NFX (this is around 5 cars). Daitojo is adding the finishing touches to his Phoenix and his Chief is pretty much done. FacFerC showed off some recent progress on his Dominator in his workshop (you guys should check it out!), that's looking solid so far. I've got my Bulldozer sitting about and TheMadeMan's WIP Contender, these will also be included in the pack. That's another 10+ custom cars featured in the mod!

 

Dunno if FacFerC is still planning to make a Greenwood replacement, but in any case we've got the civilian Chief (besides the FBI version) if that doesn't work out for whatever reason.
