But this story is not about him. Flint Casie - a new mobster from Liberty City - comes to this city in pursue of a mystery. His brother was killed here in Vice yet his rest in peace was ruined by an unknown party who completely destroyed his funeral. By coming here Flint expects find out who's behind it. The game is most likely to crash during the loading screen or may not launch at all. To fix that you need to find Non- steam gta-vc.exe v1.0 Q: Is this mod compatible with other mods? A: It is highly recommended that you do not use any other mods with Shine o' Vice. Some other modifications may cause game breaking bugs so please, make sure that the bug is not related to other modifications (remove those first) before reporting it. Q: When I play the game I have no audio. When I go to audio options, it says "No Audio Hardvare Found". How come? A: This installation does not contain audio files. Make sure that your game has audio files inside the audio folder. If you do have all the proper audio files, it may be your gta.exe problem. Q: When I start the game, I can hear the intro sounds and music, but the video is not displayed? How come? A: Right-clik on gta-vc.exe->Compatibility-> Check Disable Desktop Composition Q: When I play the game my mouse seem to not work. How come? A: Right-clik on gta-vc.exe->Compatibility->Check Disable Visual Themes (or alternatively run the game in Win95 or XP compatibility mode). Q: When I try to launch the game I get an error message that says "The program failed to initialise properly". What the hell? A: Try installing the latest DirectX version to your computer. If it doesn't help, try updating the C++Redistributable on your computer. Q: Everything works fine, but when I try loading savegames or restart the game, it crashes. How come? A: Try Right-clik on gta-vc.exe->Compatibility-> Check Disable display scaling on high DPI settings. It's a long shot, but might work. Q: Everything works fine, bet the longer my playing session the more unstable it looks. To be more precise, car geometry goes nuts! What's that? A: A bug that we are aware of and trying to fix. For now just reload the game (preferably turning it off and on again) and everything should be just fine. Q: I tend to run into some random bugs: a texture error here, a random crash there etc.? How come? A: GTA Shine o' Vice is still in WIP state. We are working on finishing the mod and fixing all the bugs so there would be none in final release. Untill then, bug reports are appreciated. lolleroz 230 Posted August 28, 2013 Wow I really hope you don't give up on this, I remember one of your previous mods loooong time ago and the video was amazing, unfortunely you lost it in HDD crash or something. The selling drugs feature really got me pumped, I always wanted to create a mod for VC to sell drugs since there's nothing to do after main story, but never had enough coding skills. (eg. the action button isn't always available on-screen on mobile What's your thoughts on this being released for mobile VC as well? If you are ok with it being ported but have no mobile device and if no-one else does it then i might as well. EDIT: Come to think of, are you working on it snce like 2009? Otherwise looks like your patience is nearing infinity EDIT2: (eg. the action button isn't always available on-screen on mobile) I'm pretty sure it's called out by a Mobile-exclusive opcode. BEGINit 1,095 Posted August 28, 2013 ^^yeah I believe it's being developed since 2009. Got ups and downs. lolleroz was right it's the one which was almost lost because of hdd crash. Started it over from an early backup I had on other PC. Some time later I managed piss myself off because my idea of non linear game became too complex. So got rid of the idea and started again. Not to mention that for some time I was developing it at the same time with Perils of Liberty City and Frosted Winter bug search. BEGINit 1,095 Posted April 13, 2014 I have to say that I've got so many things to do in life, that moding gta is probably the slowest process of them all. Nevertheless, its happening. Now the bad news is that I'm pretty much at the point where the process is halted due to the lack of my envisioned models. I scripted everything by taking into account the idea of having a few new buildings, interiors and dynamic objects. Unfortunately, I cannot model well (I'm not going to learn, it would take considerable amount of time). Furthermore, almost every attempt to find someone, who could make those models for me failed (either people encounter various technical problems or simply disappear). So yeah, I'm basically having the game where there's nothing to do script wise because scripting is like 90% done. The last 10% is incomplete and waiting for the new models to be adjusted to. Umm...
