rudy
"Bored and didn’t have anything to do, so we decided to kill somebody" Teens Charged with first degree murder for killing a baseball player One of the Oklahoma teenagers accused of killing 23-year-old Australian Christopher Lane had previously posted images online showing himself posing with guns and wads of cash. And three days before what police call the indiscriminate shooting, the suspect, 15-year-old James Edwards Jr., tweeted, “With my n****s when it’s time to start taken life’s.” Back in April, he tweeted, “90% of white ppl (people) are nasty. #HATE THEM.” Police in the town of Duncan have charged Edwards and Chancey Luna, 16, as adults with felony murder in the first degree, said Kaylee Chandler, a Stephens County court clerk. Michael Jones, their alleged 17-year-old driver, faces two charges: use of a vehicle in the discharge of a weapon and accessory after the fact to murder in the first degree. A judge set bond at $1 million for Jones, while no bond was set for Edwards and Luna, Chandler said. Police say it was Jones who ultimately told them, “We were bored and didn’t have anything to do, so we decided to kill somebody.” 911 call: ‘If you don’t hurry, he’s gone’ Lane was a promising young athlete, living his dream of studying in the United States on a baseball scholarship. The people of Duncan, an affluent town of less than 25,000 people, welcomed him. Lane had gone out for a jog, just at the time the teens had decided to find someone to kill, police say. They drove their car behind him and opened fire, hitting him once in the back, authorities say. He staggered across the road and fell to his knees, then managed to get up and take a few more steps before collapsing for good. A woman who saw him struggling called 911. As she waited for an ambulance, the young man started to turn blue. “If you don’t hurry, he’s gone,” the woman warned. But it was too late. The ambulance couldn’t save Lane. He was pronounced dead at a hospital. He was “the most amazing person I’ve ever met,” his girlfriend, Sarah Harper, told CNN’s “AC360″ on Wednesday. “He was the most genuine and kind-hearted guy and would do anything for anybody at any time and … made everyone feel special.” “There is no way to describe what happened,” she said. “It’s the hardest thing you could ever imagine happening. …There is still a lot of shock and disbelief, and a lot of anger and sadness.” “You can’t make sense of it,” she added. “It’s just — so surreal that anybody could do something like this.” Security camera, call to police aided investigation Immediately after the shooting, witnesses gave police a general description of a black car. Security footage from a nearby Mexican restaurant showed what could have been the car. But hours passed with no sign of whether there would be another killing. Then, four hours after the shooting, a man called police, saying he could see three juveniles with guns — and they apparently want to kill someone, said Duncan police Chief Danny Ford. Officers responded to a home and found the car in a church parking lot across the street from the caller’s house. The suspects were inside, and they provided enough information to be arrested. Two days later, Edwards offered up details of the case, police said. The teens had been inside a house when Lane ran by, and the group decided he’d be the target — to cure their boredom, Ford says. Apparently that innocent Australian baseball player *removes the hat* was one of the most respected player in his team. And as for those teenagers. Jesussssss! if you're bored go see a movie, or watch Youtube, or go jack off to porn or something. Literally almost anything is a better decision than murdering someone for kicks, and putting that sort of plan into actual action is indicative of some abnormal mental behaviors imo. I really do wonder if there were drugs and(probable) alcohol involved. Thoughts? Edit. Link fixed. Edited August 23, 2013 by rudy.
Quartercan American
daddy wouldn't teach them so they went off acting like the thugs they are..... Keep them off the streets before they kill more innocent people The world we live in
Ziggy455
Jesus, ain't sh*t slipping fast. No motive, just boredom. It makes me wonder what kind of upbringing they've had. Maybe mommy and daddy didn't show them enough attention. Either way, lock em up, throw away the keys, and let them rot until the flies can't find nothing valuable left. AceRay
People have been killing people and going on sprees out of boredom for years, this is nothing new. There's the romance of being hunted down like a fugitive and not giving a damn for any laws, its the romance of the fugitive, you just hear more about because of the increased media coverage. bread
Well, at least they're going to suffer from a terrible life. No one can live a normal life after murdering an innocent person. These retards will rot and be tarnished for the rest of their lives.
Kiffster
Reminds me of these 4 sh*tbrains in my country that went out one night and terrorized homeless people. They severely beat up one man and killed another. All because they "were out having a good time". All 4 of them came from rich, respected families... Typhus
Trailblazing heroes. If more kids followed their example, people would be a lot happier. You're getting yourself out there, trying new things, meeting new people. You shouldn't be condemning them, you should be applauding their initiative. Where I live, we have a disused railway line that's been a footpath for years. On this footpath the growth of the trees are sporadic and are normally all over the place. With hills going up on either side, making it impossible to pass through all the thorns and nettles and such. We got reports that a body was down in a small ditch on the side, found by a couple of bikers -it was a good trail to peddle- and they called it in. The woman was forty four years old and was found dead, with her head smashed in. Many people knew that she was being constantly bullied and harassed by three chav-youths. This is the full story. This made me sick to my stomach, and it just makes me wonder what the f*ck is wrong with people? Why do people do these things? It's in relation to this due to the fact there was no motive, and it's f*cking crazy how people just do these things nonchalantly like snuffing out a life is the easiest thing in the world. D4 Damager
Reminds me a little bit of the James Vance case where two friends carried out a suicide pact on a whim whilst high/drunk. One of them didn't die and eventually his family tried to sue Judas Priest because subliminal messages apparently made them do it. Which was bollocks. I would suggest that the number of people who kill themselves or others purely on impulse is actually quite reasonable, and that this is actually more common than you might think. There are almost always indicators that such incidents might happen theough, such as dependence on alcohol or drugs and a penchant for weaponry. But seriously, they're like 15, 16 and 17 years old. Old enough to know that killing someone is bad, they should be tried like adult.
EscoLehGo
I don't understand one thing about this case, apparently it might have been racially motivated but if you look at the mugshots one of the kids involved appears to be white? The f*ck is that about?

Finn 7 five 11
Wasn't this story from like a year ago when he originally got killed? Well anyway, I read somewhere his tombstone says "Why?" And his father said that his death was just so...pointless. People be killing people all the time for no reason other than to just kill somebody, it's a pretty common occurrence in the gang scene, If I grew up in that environment i'd probably end up doing the same damn thing. Ambient_
Generally people who do this type of thing have something to blame, but this... this is just disgusting. It terrifies me and evokes the thought of what else may be lurking in this 21st Century stalemate. Why do people have to do this? If I ever move to the US I'm arming myself with a .357 to prevent pricks like these kids injuring, or even killing innocent bystanders. It's disgusting and to be quite frank, rather embarrassing. This is what we are as human beings. Some of us have split from the herd and begun killing "for the fun of it" which is just appalling. The victim's relatives have my deepest sympathies, I can't fathom how upset they will be right now. As for those scumbags, don't kill them, that's too easy. I hope they make it as long, hard and arduous as they can so these pricks regret even thinking of the idea.
