NO FISHING IN GTA5 CONFIRMED

Fishing is nothing compared to hunting. Hunting makes you strategize and run if a bear comes at you. Fishing requires you to just sit there and reel the fish in=lame.

Obviously you dont know what you are saying. Fishing is all about tactics. You are catching boots if all you do is sit there with the line in the water.

 

The whole expansive ocean is on the size of the RDR map. The thing is huge! I think that fishing would have been one of the best ideas for an activity in the game. Don't get me wrong, I think that everything I have heard about this game sofar has made my jaw drop. However, just imagine trailering your boat to the marina, setting up your fishing gear for the right type of fish your looking for (Snapper, dolphin - Mahi, sailfish, wahoo...) then head out at dawn and look for birds and debris and so on. Once you find some birds making a splash looking and hunting fish below then throw in your lines and troll until you get hit. Then your typical fish fight like on most games, reel in fish until you get what you want.

 

The interesting part would be the species and lbs of the fish in a game like GTA. For instance, selling fish in the black market to restaurants purchasing fresh catch illegally. Catching rare species and large fish for more $$$.

 

I live in Miami and our lobsters are so protected that game and wildlife commission will fine you big time for illegal counts and sizes. Turning that into profit and running from the police for illegal fishing could have been creative activities for this game.

 

I think we should make some noise on this in the forums and R* forums to see if maybe they can work on this idea for DLC. Maybe they're waiting for a vice city island for this idea, who knows?!

R* have done already quite a lot at making what will sure be a great game. Being mad at them because they didn't include a small side activity is pointless. Plus, the game is gold already, it won't suddenly be added. GTA isn't Sims, and you should not expect it to be, it's just a really realistic crime simulator, and I am pretty sure it won't be entirely impossible to enjoy GTA V due to not having fishing in the game.

 

But, who knows, maybe R* just didn't say anything about fishing and it actually will be in the game? Maybe as a part of hunting?

Well, who knows, scuba-diving fishing doesn't seem unlikely at all. There must be at least some way to fight sharks underwater, right? Like a spear gun or something?

I think it's very likely we will spear fishing of some sort. But not necessarily fishing, more like saving your ass by spearing a shark to get back to your boat.

 

This game is going to be incredible.
