Znd Posted August 22, 2013 Share Posted August 22, 2013 Just wondering if anyone else does the rounds on youtube and watches the channels of people who preview it like I do. I watch CVG of course. We all know they've often got very good, very extensive commentary...and they've seen the game (as they always remind us). Their professionalism shows when they speak. But I don't know, sometimes it's a little too extensive and a little long winded...talking about details that aren't that important at length, and it takes them awhile to actually get into the serious content on their show, after they have their banter about dave being on vacation and such. The other channel I watch is just the opposite, and I kind of like it because of that. It's GTA5Videos. It's this 15 yr old Dutch kid, who speaks English pretty well, but not perfectly, and sometimes it makes for excellent unintentional humor. Every video he throws out one casual f-bomb, but only one, and in a completely random place...he's not cussing, not cussing at all, then he says "I know you guys are gonna f*ckin enjoy that, right?" He also sometimes has stupid theories of stuff in the game, and misunderstands certain things that are pretty simple to understand. But he takes his channel very seriously, he still manages to deliver info in an entertaining way, and he speaks his second language a lot better than I speak mine. Aside from those two, I watch a lot of other channels, but none enough to really remember the names of the channels. I also think it's weird how 90% of these people have accents that are not American. I don't find anything wrong with that, you'd just think for a video game series made in America and based in America, that a lot of Americans play, there would be more American GTA commentators. But maybe we're too lazy, maybe we just don't see the point of it, I don't know. Just an observation. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Olli43 and GTASeries are good as well. Come to think of it, there should be a GTAF channel doing this too! They can give out troll of the week awards, too. Regarding the topic...I like gtaseries videos, just vids no talking and with usually nice beats playing over them. Good channel. Also dig gta v o clock and ollie 43. I cant watch the Dutch kid. They do good analysis' but they don't talk about everything in the screenshots/ video's which is what they initially promised. For example: In Trevor's trailer there's a bag with the burger shot logo on it which they skip over. Well I can't complain, it's harder than it seems. I just don't like their speculation haha, especially over the online stuff. I don't know. I just find it annoying. I'll believe the stuff Rockstar says about consistently updating, adding new cities etc etc about the online when I see it. Makes me worry about the rest of the single player series.. The GTA5Videos kid doesn't know what he's talking about and Olli43 is kinda slow when it comes to new info. The CVG guys have some authority based on their previews but I don't think this gives them the right to become all "the only show worth watching", "we're the best show around", "other shows are complete and utter sh*t". Come on, as someone previously said they skip over a lot of important details and the mapping project is a trainwreck. The first one was just a complete ripoff of one made jokingly by a GTAForums user and, even though they got somewhat more accurate later, they still f*cked up the placement of Paleto, whereafter they proclaimed that their map was the closest to the real one on the entire internet. These guys just know more about GTA V than the average viewer, but a lot of the users on the forums are way more knowledgeable than CVG. To people who are truly interested in GTA V, I would suggest to just stick to the forums and the mapping thread in particular. The guys over there are doing God's work.
