18GB on PS3. Why only 15 on Xbox?

The 360 has a stronger CPU, so it can extract the content without the player noticing any FPS drops, so both versions should be the same, I would be more worried about the RAM limitations of the PS3.

Same. I know users who owns both and someone tested GTA IV vs GTA IV psn... Xbox was better but more compressed...

No worries, both are the same.

Also someone should do a GTA V FPS test for both smile.gif

I think you have no idea what you're talking about. The CPU of the PS3 generally is by FAR faster than the one of the Xbox 360, however, the GPU of the Xbox 360 is slightly better. On the PS3 it's simply too difficult for developers to code things for the CPU because of the complex architecture, hence the same performance.

And I don't see why the RAM limitations would worry you, both PS3 and Xbox 360 have the same amount of RAM, on the PS3 the GPU can however also access the RAM of the CPU, and since the GPU generally takes up more ram there's no bottleneck there.

Both systems are pretty much identical in the end, hence why, if properly coded, there shouldn't be any differences at all.

No, the Xbox has unified RAM not the PS3. The PS3 has 256 MB to the GPu and 256 to the CPU.

GTA IV is 6.7 GB on 360 aswell but we all know GTA IV is better on 360

I played the 360 version for two years before picking up the Ps3 version, and hands down I prefer the Ps3 version.

Yes Xbox 360 has unified RAM, BUT, the PS3's GPU can access the CPU's RAM, while the CPU can't access the GPU's RAM. And because the GPU uses more RAM than the CPU it doesn't really matter in the end, but I've said that already. sigh.gif

3 full cores vs 1 core and 6 SPE's which almost no developer uses. The PS3's CPU is better in theory but no one uses it and never will use it to its full potential except for sony themselves. And like

iNero said PS3 has 256mb/256mb split.

I agree, the framerate wasn't terrible because it was smooth and it had a good draw-distance on PS3.

Same thing which was with IV probably .. 7.1 sound ,different tv angles and higher resoulution tv shows and maybe some small minor stuff. Knowing R* past and most console games today ,I don't expect xbox to look worse nor run sh*ttier, not to mention cut content. Also both are different systems working on different tools. PS3 games has always took more space from what I've seen on Eurogamers face-off's

Why is the Xbox Version 2-3 Gigs smaller? I mean thats a lot of missing files I guess. Unless they managed to compress them way better than on PS3

Different compression on the video, audio and texture files.

I cant imagine anyone really complaining about sound quality as majority of people are playing on their flatscreens sh*tty speakers.

I mean,  people actually think Dre. Beats sound good

Sadly, you're right, this generation is proof of that, the PS3 completely smashes EVERY Xbox 360 game in terms of audio, hell, every Rockstar game sounded better on the PS3 to, GTA IV is missing some dynamic mixing and echo effects on the Xbox 360, version, etc, but do people ever bring that up? Nope, people only care about graphics these days, it's not like past generations where Audio mattered to make up for the low graphics.

That's my one let down of this generation, no one seems to care about Audio now, it's made many devs lazy with their audio, as people only focuses on what game has better textures or AA, it's rather sad we'll never modern games go to the great lengths older games did to use many different audio effects and styles to improve the games.

I completely agree with you. That's one of the biggest reason why I love to play games on a PC.

Because I always use my earphones to listen to the great quality audio.

I want to "live" in that game instead listening to my sh*tty TV speakers, believe,

my TV speakers are completely sh*t and I never ever took my PS3 seriously.

I played RDR and it was a lovely game but i gave the console up because of lack of using earphones.

I also don't want to wake up others at night when they are sleeping.

The radio stations of GTA SA on my laptop when using earphones....unbelievable great quality! It's like cinema.

And my TV have bad sound, I don't know the right word but it's the frequences of my TV.

Bad low or high tunes, which makes it hard to listen carefully when watching a movie.

Too bad R* won't be releaaing GTAV for PC this year. Screw my PS3 and TV.

Congrats. You write END OF DISCUSSION by posting a nearly five and a half year old article. Wish I could vote this the most useless post in this whole thread.

the conclusion is

it will be the same on both

retard.

you need to learn how to connect the dots, you must really miss a lot of things daily

No one here asked if it's the same, why don't you read the original question? Talking about connecting dots... sigh.gif

how is it the same when PS3 version had 640p while the Xbox Version had 720p native?

Why the hell is there always the "at least xbox can install full discs huehuehue" f*cking argument brought into everything? it's not even related to this! the difference is in compression!

Not only that, but the PS3 version's frame rate is lower even after the resolution is lowered.

It said the file size, which it only does with the downloadable files. After they removed the first leak, it was like 200KB, now it's 17.2GB. I hope to god it's not downloadable yet.
