18GB on PS3. Why only 15 on Xbox?

With more compression on the 360 version, doesn't that mean there will be longer loading times on the 360 as well? My apologies if I'm wrong.

why should there be longer loading times when the files are smaller?

Because I thought that if a file is compressed, it needs to be decompressed to extract the content; if the Xbox 360 version is compressed farther, that means waiting longer for decompression.

That can be taken care of during the install process. specially since the entire game can be installed.

Sadly, you're right, this generation is proof of that, the PS3 completely smashes EVERY Xbox 360 game in terms of audio, hell, every Rockstar game sounded better on the PS3 to, GTA IV is missing some dynamic mixing and echo effects on the Xbox 360, version, etc, but do people ever bring that up? Nope, people only care about graphics these days, it's not like past generations where Audio mattered to make up for the low graphics.

 

That's my one let down of this generation, no one seems to care about Audio now, it's made many devs lazy with their audio, as people only focuses on what game has better textures or AA, it's rather sad we'll never modern games go to the great lengths older games did to use many different audio effects and styles to improve the games.

While I agree with you that audio has to be done right and when it's not, you notice it big time. I also feel that audio as a major point of critique, isn't that big a deal. I mean as long as it sounds "right", then the more important issue is what looks right. Because let's face, you can mute GTA V and still get an incredible experience. But if you turn off your monitor and just have your speakers on, well that game turns into nothing but a soundtrack.

 

For gaming, yeah, visuals > audio.

I now highly doubt that the Radio will be more compressed than on PS3.

I got the Radio Station File with the 103h of audio (43 hours we can listen to)

 

Those 103 hours only have 1.4 GB. I highly doubt this relativly small size is worth more compression and having worse audio.

Xbox 360 version will match the PS3 in a worst case scenario. Best case scenario (for 360 owners) it's slightly ahead in frame-rate and visual quality again as every single Rockstar game this generation has been. Actually, ALL Rockstar games are better on Xbox, even going back to the PS2 days. They ended up porting (note - these games were made for the PS2 and PORTED yet they were still better so take that "WAHHH THEY MADE THEM FOR THE 360 THEN PORTED TO PS3!" nonsense excuse out of the equation) all their PS2 GTA games to the original Xbox and not only did they run better but they also had vastly superior graphics.

 

Xbox 360 GTA V > Playstation 3 GTA V. Just because every single trailer has had "footage from PS3" attached doesn't mean sh*t. It only means that Sony paid Rockstar big $$$$ for advertising exclusivity rights.

 

 

Also let's not forget the fact that the Xbox 360 is the only console which will allow disc based full installs of the game. Absolutely no disc spinup during gameplay for faster load times and 0 noise/heat. Win.

PS3 is bigger because of uncompressed LPCM audio (24 bit 96 KHz audio), where as 360 is stuck with compressed Dolby Digital audio (16 bit 48 KHz audio).

Xbox 360 GTA V > Playstation 3 GTA V. Just because every single trailer has had "footage from PS3" attached doesn't mean sh*t. It only means that Sony paid Rockstar big $$$$ for advertising exclusivity rights.

 

The fact that they made a deal should only push Rockstar further to make the PS3 version look the same, if not better than the 360 version since Sony is paying them big bucks. And if all their footage is gonna be on the PS3, they're damn well gonna want it to look as best as possible.
