18GB on PS3. Why only 15 on Xbox?

Just for the record, GTA isn't known to use pre-rendered cutscenes, so the 3gb isn't compressed video, it is most likely compressed audio as other have been saying

They're not talking about pre-rendered cutscenes, it's about the TV/Movie and Internet Video content that's likely a bit less compressed along with maybe audio as was the case with GTA IV. The 3GB difference (the XB360 version is about 15GB according to Rockstar) amounts to nothing significant.

People need to stop worrying..

Playstation have Blu-Ray, Rockstar exploit that feature so they have higher quality video's within the game. That's it.

No big deal, no major difference. The game will still be the same..

Xbox fan-girl argument:

"Higher compression makes a game better."

No. Compression actually reduces the quality of graphics and audio. So don't cry when the Xbox 360 version is pretty mediocre.

I prefer the PlayStation 3 because it does not need the bullsh*t with compression, which lets games allow more content.

Perfect examples are: The Last of Us and Uncharted (you don't see them on Xbox, do you?)

Holy mother of God, so much stupidity...

Wasn't the Xbox version of GTA IV smaller in size, yet ran true HD?

Considering the space on a bluray they don't need to compress the files as much.

my thoughts exactly.

Xbox 360: 6.8GB

PS3: 10.4GB

As I stated numerous times, the extra space came from Audio (44.1Khz ADPCM instead of 32Khz ADPCM) and BINK videos (the TV files being much less compressed), that's it. Nothing gameplay wise, no extra textures or high res stuff or more models, nope, just audio and video.

I think I'm too late to say this but ... inb4 PS3 Fanboys

OT: Not sure, maybe extra stuff I don't know. It is a digital download so maybe there is a theme or something. Possibly it could be the digital manual.

I had a PS3 and it broke on me 5 times, switched to xbox and never had a problem with anything. End of argument, Xbox is better.

Ash let them be if they wish to ignore facts and bash each other let em do it they will get tiered out soon. As for more new comers i agree there seems to be a rise of inbreeds on here. Iv already looked on Google and found info about the disk's size a put it on a prevues post.

You guys do realise that the PS3 has an exclusive bonus soundtrack.

Possibly other little things too.

Haven't seen the PS3 + V bundle with the headset?

The term is "imbred". Also I enjoy Xbox-fangirls "attempting" to prove a point about their supposed master-race, it's a good way to acquire my morning giggles. It makes me fall out of my chair when the worst console to date (even the Wii is better) has more praise than PS3 or even PCs for that matter.

I know. I was just proving him wrong in a question format. Also, Brock, the f*cking word is INBRED. At least Google the sh*t before you try correcting someone's spelling.

Hahahahaha! What resolution did GTA IV and Red Dead run at compared to the 360 version? ROFL if I remember correctly GTA IV was 420p or somesh*t while RDR was 640p. There's no better console mate, it's all preference.

Watching console fanboys act like their consoles are different in any respect (when they're basically the exact same thing in 95% of all categories) is hilarious.

For me, I'll have to wait and see. I'm getting the Xbox 360 version because all my friends are on that platform so I have people to play online with. If the PS3 version has better visuals, I'll buy it when the price goes down.

Edit: Do you guys think the PS3 version could have unused files? IV had left over files on PC and PS3 (I think) but not on the Xbox 360.

Don't you love (read: hate) fanboys fighting over consoles instead of just friggin' enjoying the chance to play such fantastic game? Really.

As long as it's the same as GTA IV was in terms of quality for the 360, I couldn't care less. I'm more interested in seeing what the gameplay has to offer.

Well, Actually, It was 720p on Xbox and 640p on PS3 for GTA IV, Not too sure about RDR, But i'm pretty sure they both ran 720p.
