Is Midnight Club LA map bigger than Los Santos?

If yes, then they should've made some tweaks to it and import it to GTA V rather than make whole new map.

From what I've seen, Midnight Club LA map looks rather neat

I dont think it.

Its a cool map, yes, but that would of been very lazy of rockstar to do that. And who wants to play the same map twice?

A lot smaller I believe. There was a scale comparison on the Los Santos size thread a while ago about it.

No.

Maybe the entire MCLA map will be bigger than LSC because MCLA is a racing game and needs longer roads...I don't know. I've never played MCLA.

But importing it just plain lazy and it would suck.

I wish people would stop going on about the map. V's map looks massive to me. I really don't see what people are complaining about.

you didn't get the point of a good map/gameworld... its not about the size...

Never. Not a chance. From Rockstar's sources, GTAV's Los Santos will be vast and supposed to be bigger than other maps. I don't know how fair it will differ from GTA IV but the Countryside, along with Los Santos might make a map bigger than San Andreas. But, as far as Midnight Club is concerned, I never found the map to be bigger than GTA IV or even San Andreas and hopefully it turns it to be the same.

The map for Midnight Club: LA is bigger than what Los Santos city proper will be in GTA V. However, the whole map (LS plus Blaine County combined) will be bigger than Midnight Club: LA. There was a thread that discussed this already: http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=500777&st=420.

To put things into perspective, Los Santos (just the city, not surrounding country side) is supposed to be about the same size, if not slightly bigger, than the land area of Liberty City in GTA IV, which is about 5-6 square miles. Midnight Club: LA has a land area of well over 20 square miles...

Maybe they should've just imported LA Noire's ... I mean, it was basically pointless in that game anyway. Ha.

It was calculated that MCLA with the South Central expansion is smaller than Los Santos.

Do you mean Los Santos as in just the city, or Los Santos as in the city + countryside + water area? I was mainly referring to just the city. There's no doubt that the whole GTA V map will be bigger than MCLA. I'd like to know the square mileage for MCLA; it might be easier to compare the map sizes that way to know which "LA" is bigger. I just stumbled upon this; it might not be that accurate though: http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=559819&st=40

MCLA's square mileage is 5 square miles as stated in the thread you linked to. Liberty City's whole map (this includes water) is 6 square miles. Considering Los Santos is around the size of Liberty City or slightly bigger it should be clear that Ferocious meant the city and didn't include Blaine County, or he would have likely said so.

Oh, ok, that makes more sense. I couldn't find any hard answer on a more reputable site of MCLA's map size. I've played it, and I heard some mentionings of it being 25 square miles (it was in the first link I gave in an earlier post), and I went with that. It didn't seem quite that big to me, but it felt larger than LC (about the size of SA), and I had nothing else to go off of. Kinda feel stupid for posting the that earlier, lol. Thanks for mentioning that

Yea, when I see a number posted by Magic Al I know it is likely the true number. He has a good reputation on this forum concerning the map size of games.

I was talking about the city alone, mate. Los Santos is taller; MCLA is wider from what I remember.

I was using MCLA-feeling-larger-than-LC as an example during the peak of the 'Los Santos size' topic. If MCLA felt big, then Los Santos certainly would, too!
