I just bought IV and its DLC (for like the 4th time) and I've been playing them over. I recently decided I wouldn't use any cheats while playing IV, and while I thought It'd be tough, I actually kinda like it! It adds another layer of depth to the game, like saving ammo, going to Burger Shots and Cluckin Bells, it's more fun than I thought it'd be. So I've decided that I'll play through without cheats, at least until the game is over. And if I just can't stand not waiting, I'll make a separate save file for cheating.

How about you? Will you guys cheat?

i never use cheats in gta, not because they ruin the experience because they don't. but i've never needed them.

Edit: the last time i cheated in gta was just to mess around in gta3. i made the peds go after eachother and stuff like that

Depends... I won't cheat the first play through that's for sure. Not for the story.

I wanna keep the experience as it was meant to be, from start to the end.

But I may use cheats occasionally if there is cool / fun ones, like Idk spawning a certain vehicle that I really want to try, just to mess around.

I'll use cheats but definitely on a desperate save file... In IV I just used them and restarted from my last save once I had enough. (Auto save off)

Stupid poll options. confused.gif I'm going to cheat for health whenever my car gets banged up by a stupid NPC who doesn't know how to drive.

After I beat the game I'll start from the beginning with all cheats available, it's a tradition.

I'll only use cheats after I've beaten the storyline. I never use cheats in a GTA game while I'm doing a playthrough of the storyline, and GTA V will be no different in this regard.

Not to bash on you, but there was a thread like this before and it ended up really badly...

Yes I'll cheat after I've finished the game.

Sneakerhead.

Only if I am on a very difficult mission, or if I want to drive a certain car.

Yes. It's ok to cheat, but only after finishing the story line and "fun" cheats only on a new game,

I don't want to loose all my in game stuff I've earned.

After I've finished the game. Though I hope the twats have stopped making the cheats f*ck up the game so much. I want to be able to turn them on and off without having to reset the system or whatever, that crap was tiresome.

And of course, there'd better be tons of cool cheats, like riots, funny sh*t, and stuff to really change the experiences.

No, no and no.

One no for each protagonist.

Eventually I'll cheat but only either on a different save file that I will share with a family member or after I beat the game (I doubt I'll do the latter)

Nulled my vote, my option would have been "I will use cheats but not ever save the game after any were input"

I suppose that counts as "ill wait til the game is complete", but I won't, I just won't save it tounge.gif

Probably not right away..Only if I get stuck and couldn'tt complete something even if my life depended on it..Possibly second playthrough just to see if there's a time difference in completion with cheats as opposed to without cheats.

Nobody NEEDS exploding cars or rioting peds or all green traffic lights or turning your character into a prostitute magnet, they...um, do it for fun. notify.gif

not on the story, i only use cheats for fun and never to get past anything, and i never save the game with them on unless its a completed file.

Depends on the situation. If I get stuck on something I can't beat, then yes. But if it's all doable, then no. Not until I beat the game.

i generally dont cheat until i've finished the story. however, with side missions/stranger quests it depends on my mood.

No, but not because it 'ruins the experience'. I just don't care to use them anymore.

Might try out some cheats after completing the game but not really a big cheat user.

I think I will cheat. I have always (apart from Vice City which was my first venture into the world of GTA) waited until after I'm done with the storyline missions before I started to cheat.

However with regards to GTA IV I don't think I cheated that much until BoGT was released -- that game definitely had some cheats which were worth playing the game for and which added replay value after the completion of the original storyline missions. The same could be said for SA and VC. If GTA V goes down the path of less realism (which the leaked achievements seem to suggest is possible) then I can foresee there being some cheats which I would like to employ after completing the storyline missions. When it comes to cheating on my primary save however, it's a definite no and always will be.

I honestly never gave a sh*t about cheating in the SD Gta games but ever since they made cheats done through calling numbers i never really used them. Its annoying trying to pull up your phone and go to the cheats menu when you're low on health and running from the cops. I prefer the older style of cheats. Hell I still remember triangle triangle square circle x l1 l1 down up and its been how many years? Not to mention all the health and armor, weapon, jetpack cheats from gta III - SA. The phone number system is nifty but its not great for a fast paced action packed game like gta. Man i could do a health cheat in less than a second i swear. Back when tommy and claude couldn't swim i could type in the health cheat fast enough to stay alive until my hands got tired lol. IMO the cheating system for gta 4 sucked. I'd rather it at least be on the pause screen like rdr so the game pauses while im finding the cheat I want.
